Haroon 49,685
Well that's fine and great for her If she prefers singing things she's handwritten then yay I still don't think not writing your own songs is a big deal, like what if someone else has written a kick ass song that you relate to so well, I don't think it makes a song better or worse for the consumer if the artist has written it or not Nice to see most of GGD finally seeing her as the artists she is and not the crazy ex girlfriend Agreed

OpusDiaboli666 199
Taylor is extremely smart about the business that's a big part of her success. She writes her own songs and she's had tremendous success with it. If she built that label it's only fair to be in control of everything. Also she gets along great with people and instead of fighting or firing people she would probably rather work things out. This being said: I don't think 1989 is nearly as good as her other albums. I'm done listening to it already. I feel the younger she was the better of a songwriter she used to be.
HANZ 4,380
she is in the top of the world and yet she remains humble and dow to earth others should learn from her tbh My Favs = Lady Gaga, Janet Jackson, Ricky Martin, AKB48
DeleteMyAccount 11,881
"because it felt disingenuous to try to exploit two genres when your album falls in only one." Even though she gladly accepted awards that deemed her previous work as Country, Pop, or Rock. And the Top Country Artist award she got from Billboard this year. Or in her country days when she would release a single and then remix it so it would be simultaneously successful on mainstream radio. Love her, but she's been exploiting both genres for profits for a while how.

Putin 0
I know she was predominately country, yet Red had a *slight* pop edge, but It's funny how this girl can pull off a better Pop album than a lot of others who have been pop since the beginning. I dont think writing pop album like 1989 was harder than writing an album like Speak Now or Fearless. 1989 is a good pop album but its shallow and superficial as every mainstream album these days. Also with support of Max Martin, I think it was easy to make for Taylor.
DMTT 160
That song is written more by Imogen than Taylor tbh. It has her trademark all over the track both lyrically and production can you not? you're embarrassing yourself.... imogen already said twice that taylor wrote all of the lyrics, and that she was surprised that taylor actually wrote her songs and had as much involvement in her music as she does. please don't say stupid things without any evidence to back it up from now on
DMTT 160
I'm making assumptions based on the music I hear and you make assumptions based on what someone says in an interview, lets agree to disagree are you kidding me? you've got to be.... imogen heap's words >>>>> your opinion lmfao imogen has no reason to lie whatsoever. but you can believe your delusion, keep on keepin' on
Bye 3,947
Never. Armed about Taylor bit ever since album release I like her more and more, and of course 1989 is flawless also I can't at the Welcome To New York criticism. It's by far my favorite song from the album :ohno:

StrawberryBlond 14,807
Ugh, this big Taylor love-in is making me nauseous. I thought the Red era was bad enough, but this is unimaginable levels of torture now. It's not like I can just switch her off until her next album. Each era lasts about 1.5 years and she releases an album every 2 years. How I long for the days when only American country fans cared about her. I'm actually kinda glad that she's taken her music off Spotify now, so she can't qualify for #1's in the UK, because she's currently there with Blank Space. If she gets #1's here we'll never be free of her. If I see one more article claiming she's a great songwriter, I might scream. You know, I think Lana's song, F****d My Way Up To The Top fits her so well. And considering how she blatantly ripped off Lana's style (and the chorus of Without You specifically) with Wildest Dreams, I wouldn't blame Lana for aiming this song at her. If other artists want to be treated like Taylor has been treated, they need to find an Independent label that's just starting out. They need to sign with them and stick with them for a decade and be not only the biggest artist on that label, but also the type of artist who has the top selling album in the US (or the second highest) every year that they put out an album. Simple, huh? ;) I actually had no idea that Big Machine was independent and she was their first signing and she's the most successful artist for them. And there's only 8 people on the books altogether. That would explain so much. This has just made me resent her even more. She really has had success all because of luck. She's far too lucky for someone of such limited talent. If I was appointed the new chairperson of the label, I'd give her such a wake-up call. I'd say no to all her prissy, childish songs and get her writing like the grown woman she is, for one thing. It's so annoying how her label don't force her to grow up. I'm her age and I'd be embarrassed to sing the stuff that she does. With Speak Now, it seemed like she was maturing, but then she seemed to get more immature over time, regressing back to what is now the 1989 era. It's sad. geopang 4,831
Sounds very pretentious... You are all making her sound like she is "in control of her music, a true artist" however, her music is nothing but radio manufactured music. nothing creative or artistic about it. boysboysboys 278
Even though I still think Taylor is a bit of a fraud, this interview actually made me like her more, lol. She knows and appreciates people.
