FKAJAKE 5
No, it's not. She didn't attack hypocrites, she called out gay men for being misogynists and then complained about their double standards. she called out gay men for being offensive and misogynistic, when they can't handle the word ******* . so actually as always i was correct, she attacked hypocrites. Willy Wonka 4
My brain is starting to hurt... words, sentiments... the point is the girl DOES seem to care about something.... ok maybe she doesn't care about the specific words then.... but that doesn't mean she isn't being childish herself IMO and "not caring" when obviously she is VERY offended by the sentiment. And like I said, she could have kept this latest beef between herself and Perez, but she had to start making generalized statements about gay men. How do you expect people to react? And it isn't like this is the first time she said these kind of things. I've thought about her own words for a while so I feel like at least for myself, it is not a knee jerk reaction. Then you said "she's bis-xual so" and that's why I wrote what I wrote at the end. I am getting tired being told I don't understand when I do get what you are saying, but I feel like you are a patronizing person. Do you get that from time to time? I at least can try and see your point of view. Yes. She cares about sentiments. She's never claimed that she doesn't. All she ever said was she doesn't care about how words are used. That's the distinction I've been trying to make. In her eyes, I can use a certain word and it doesn't matter. I can say the f-word and it shouldn't matter. But if I express or depict an offensive ideology or sentiment, that's understandable to be offended by. If I express homophobic sentiments, like gays are disgusting, then it's worth throwing a fit over. And yeah, she's being childish. She even called herself petty about this and acknowledged she likes to rile Perez up. That's immature. But in order to actually exchange points of view, we have to start at the same base. We haven't been on the same base. That's why I've been trying to clarify words vs. sentiments, albeit aggressively and condescendingly. We have to define the issue before The way I read it, and the way I think she intended to explain it, she's not making a generalization of ALL gay men. She even clarified in her tweets that when she uses the F-word, it is not a catchall term for all gay men. It is directed at a specific subset of gay men that are often hostile towards femininity while also exuding femininity. So these men feel entitled to criticize and attack women and women's bodies, but are quick to be offended when someone criticizes or attacks them. "And she's bis-xual so" was a response to a different post that I had quoted in my same post, it wasn't directed at you at all. I'm sorry you feel that way. iloveit123 130
Gay men are the MOST critical of females??? Oh right, straight men aren't at all. I don't know about some of you, but I freaking love my straight girlfriends and they are always in the most welcome environment when they come to my place, to the gay bars we go. They can't say the same for the environment they experience at other bars, restaurants, walking down the street, the office, etc, etc etc. No, I don't think all gay men are innocent or welcoming, but trust and believe, a lot of gay men and women have kinship with each other and for someone like Azeazlia Banks to flippantly disregard that, makes me so mad I could spit. Maybe she has clarified herself since. i just feel that she should have kept the beef to Perez. And good lord, her twitter is OUT OF CONTROL right now. DrewStevens 5,249
she called out gay men for being offensive and misogynistic, when they can't handle the word ******* . so actually as always i was correct, she attacked hypocrites. And she only called out GAY hypocrites. No straight men, no straight or gay women, just gay men. It's not misleading, it's accurate. Also she said "The men you want will never give you the same social regard a woman gets". That's clearly a judgmental statement against gay men. Haroon 49,685
It's not that she doesn't "get it", but rather that she just doesn't believe in it. She doesn't believe in having that kind of caste system of insults. An insult is an insult. She believes (and to some extent, I've matured and I do too) that the use of a specific word shouldn't carry the social weight that it does right now. That people should care more about the actual message behind language rather than just which word is being used. If only it were as simple as every insult holding the same weight

craig 680
you don't make any sense, cultural appropriation is not bull**** and you shouldn't be joking about it It is hypocritical BS, at least the way most SJW apply it. Hip-hip is American commercial culture that was exported to Australia for $$$. Non-whites "appropriate" white culture all the time and nobody says a word. Nicki does British/cockney accents, for example. Of course, Nazis would agree that white people should stick to white music and white culture rather than lowering themselves like "wiggers" do. Funny how extreme right and extreme left end up agreeing.
