Willy Wonka 4
what? you mean hers, right? no you. she had her album done for over a year. everyone knows that. her label just refused to release it. she left her label over the summer and that's why the album was released this fall, so quickly after she left. she's already planning on dropping a mixtape next summer and has said that she's already half done with her next album, due for 2016. twitter has nothing to do with the release date on the album. it had no impact on her work ethic. you clearly don't know what you're talking about. Haroon 49,685
Her point, and she's made this point several times, is that there's a caste system of words that she doesn't believe it. She can use the N word a hundred times in her songs and no one bats an eye. She uses the F word and GLAAD is knocking at her door. There are tons of articles about the fact that many gays feel a sense of entitlement over women's bodies and a sense of entitlement to critique it. This is rarely challenged or questioned, but the second someone comes at them, they victimize themselves. It's clear in Perez's actions. He's one of the most vindictive, cruel, misogynistic gay men online. He insults and degrades women every single day. People don't even bother to say anything about his words and actions anymore. She gets in a fight and calls him the F word, and suddenly people are jumping at her throat. There's an arbitrary set of social rules regarding language that she just doesn't believe in and doesn't prescribe to. I'm not saying I necessarily agree with her, but that's how I read her. And she's made this exact argument dozens of times before. Oooh I see Well for me it's kinda like this scenario: someone calls you stupid and you snap back and insult their whole family Like if someone calls you stupid then keep it within that "range" I guess I mean if she doesn't totally get that there's different degrees of insults then I'm not quite sure what to say
iloveit123 130
what an odd argument. "who cares" is not often a literal question but rather a statement that the person who is talking doesnt care. she doesnt prescribe to the social value given to "bad" words. to try and equate that with her feelings about sentiments and actions of others is a false comparison. she has no issue with language and has never beefed OVER language. that's all she's ever said. she is pretty consistent in her moral values. if i'm being blunt, you're just interpreting her incorrectly. and once again, i'm not even defending her, because i don't particularly agree, i just think you're way off on this. Umm she is totally beefing over language and she does in fact get very butthurt over alot of freaking things (i.e. she cares)... And she constantly contradicts herself, because she says she doesn't care, but tweet after tweet and beef after beef on twitter says otherwise. I think what offended me most is that it felt like she lumped all gay men together, and she is giving fuel to homophobes.
inuborg 4,136
It's not the same, but it's both horrifying. I was not excusing the word of the N-word, but you were the one excusing the use of the F-word. Meditate on that and come back to me when you figure it out, sis. First, don't call me sis. Secondly I am not excusing her use of the F word, I wish she wouldn't use it and I don't use it myself. But people are seeing this as an attack on every gay man or the fact that Azealia condones the killing and torture of gay men when she doesn't. I root for you. I love you. You, you, you, you. Willy Wonka 4
Well I mentioned she said ""you don't even know where language came from" which I thought was stupid, nothing to do with race. And I mentioned she said words don't matter, but she has railed in the past about certain people using the N word as not being Ok. I don't think anyone should use the N word to be honest. But my point is, it contradicts what she is saying about language, when she herself HAS been offended. She has been offended by a lot of things. I don't know what else you are referring to, it is not an assumption, it is based on what she has said herself. I don't even know why I am trying to a--lyze this idiot Azealia's words. Honestly, she is like a child with a computer or smart phone... especially after hearing her talk in that interview. Honestly, I've been searching for an instance in which Azealia has gone after someone who has used the N-word and I am coming up with absolutely nothing. And as I said earlier, you're making broad generalizations about her ideology. She made it clear she doesn't understand getting upset about certain words. That's all she said. She does get offended by sentiments or actions. She's never said that people shouldn't. All she's ever said is that she doesn't understand people who get upset just because a certain word was used. She said it best when she basically said "if you listen to my music and don't care about me using the n word, then we're even gonna start with me using the f-word". She doesn't understand selectively getting offended because of a specific word. When someone depicts themselves as a "runaway slave owner" or some other kind of racist or derogatory sentiment or idea, she has no issue getting offended by that. There's a difference between getting offended by something someone says because society tells you that you should (i.e. most bad words) vs. getting offended by something that actually offends you (i.e. like racist or homophobic ideology). SissyFromSpace 20,883
She's bis-xual so like how jessie jay and nicki minaj and katy perry were? according to her tweets (old and new) she's really homophobic. Funny. Without the gays she wouldn't even be this relevant. Barbie elitist - Weaboo - Sissy

Too bad only a minority will care about this interpretation.

It isn't a fact that all gay men talk like that because it isn't statistically proven. And there isn't any lesson to learn from. You come off as ignorant to me.
