His attitudes do reek of the 1950's so I think that's probably it

That wasn't supposed to be shade :emma:

the official police report said that as he walked up to the two teens, Antonio pulled a gun on him. The cops account and the teen who lived's account are in complete opposition to each other. We have no idea until further investigation commences.

This is getting messy :sweep:

Tbh, what makes me lose faith in the cops side of the argument most easily is the fact that in recent cases, the ambulence and forensics were NOT immediately called. There is SO much room for tampering when this doesnt happen : Conflicting reports at that time in the game are almost guaranteed unless there were a TON of credible witnesses... :awkney:

On top of the fact that he didn't die immediately from the gun shot, not calling an ambulance is inhumane. Even if he had died immediately, letting him sit on the ground dead for ~30 minutes b4 calling anyone (except maybe your buddies/fellow cops :awkney: ) is also nhumane to me... even minus the chance of saving his life being gone

Thats what usually changes my mind.

But I could always be wrong. I'll wait for them to see if this whole Antonio pointed a gun thing is true, because it ENTIRELY contradicts the first report about the whole "get on the ground" stuff :emma:

Suppose you were a racist but rationally self-interested cop.

Surely the LAST thing you'd want to do in this political climate is shoot a black kid for no reason. You might harass blacks for minor offenses more than whites, but shooting is a HUGE deal and you know how the blackliberal public will react.

Not to sound unsympathetic or anything, but wasn't he armed and didn't he point a handgun at an officer?

In my messy era.

I've read tweets from people there saying there wasn't a gun at first, but then a gun magically appeared there, like the police planted evidence on the body.

I've also read a few tweets pointing out that a kkk leader in that area was tweeting to police to "get revenge" or something (not sure for what, maybe people giving cops a bad reputation?) and now this happened....if they're connected then holy hell   :wtf:

Don't believe this, for starters it's not even Christmas Eve yet in the US, that's tonight and the article says it happened then

Also, I can't at the african-americans playing the victim here, I guess they haven't figured out they are the ones who keep racism alive by constantly drawing attention to their colour, history and the fact they are still different... Maybe if they'd start to see themselves as equal things would get better... It's not like the kid was shot cuz he's black, he probably did something that warranted it, if this had been a white kid it wouldn't blow up in the media and his skin colour wouldn't matter,, it's them that make this all about race

are u serious right now??

"he probably did something that is warranted" all it seems this kid did was refuse to be racially profiled and obey a ridiculous cop, he has a RIGHT to not be searched without reasonable cause.

and yes, the whole "maybe if u guys acted like equals youd be treated as such" excuse. the thing is, what does the black community have to do to be treated fairly? act white? be less black? pretend racism is over? because everyone damn well knows it isnt and i seriously have lost hope in those that think otherwise. thats like saying "well maybe if u fags just acted straight and assimilated to our culture we'd treat u like decent worthy human beings"

When African Americans make up less than 14% of the population and whites make up 77%, yet almost an equal amount of each are being killed by the police, what other "card" do you want them to play?

If that is proportionate to a greater amount of black crime - especially black on black vs white on white violent crime - then it's not really a surprise and proves nothing.

no, it's attitudes like this that get the concept of racism removed from this society, they can't play the race card everytime something bad happens if they want to eveyone to consider them as equals, they place themslves apart from the rest of society through these reactions

I'm a white male, but I have a half-African little brother. I know exactly the stereotypes placed on people of colour and how detrimental they are. It's people with your attitudes that perpetuate the stereotypes that make it so dangerous to be of colour. It's has nothing to do at all with the race card or people of colour choosing to assimilate. Educate yourself because your ignorance is embarrassing.
