In case some country ever uses them, these big five can help. israel and those countries in one sentence? mess It'd be extremely unfair if only pro-West nations had access to these imo. Russia can be trusted with them. Can we trust these 3, after WW 2 can we trust france after napoleon wars? can we trust UK for slavery can we trust USA for Afghanistan? By the way, just si you know, Iran is a vrry civilisized country. It might have strict muslim laws, but the people there are really nice and their lives aren't as unfree as westeners usually think. No. There was never an top-official Israeli leader aiming to destruct or annihilate another country. Not to mention lunatics such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Kim Jong-un could never reach top positions in democracies like Israel to effect military decisions. There is no point for two countries with nuclear weapons to get into a state of war because the nuclear war can produce no winner. Military conflicts without nuclear weapons have been taking place ever since the 1950s: Korea, Vietnam, Yugoslavia, Iraq and many other places. If there were no nuclear bombs, the "big" countries (USA, UK, Russia, China, France) would also likely confront each other. The nuclear bombs were probably the only thing which kept the USA and the Soviet Union from open military confrontation. The politicians knew there would be no winner in the war between them, that's why they just kept on increasing the nuclear weapons for the case of protection of their national borders. Ironically these nuclear weapons kind of bring a balance to the world which is more often sharpened by the tensions due to many countries trying to pursuit solely their own national interests in the foreign policy, not willing to seek a compromise. I agree with this. Although it would only take one country to take that extra step. Naturally, the people of the nation that was struck will want to draw blood and demand that there be a nuclear strike in return. So then government is in a tough spot: do they fall under popular pressure of retaliation and send off the nuclear bomb, or resist because of Mutually-Assured-Destruction and risk an angry population? The second world war was without any discussions the biggest crime against humanity ever undertaken on this planet. In no way am I trying to justify the napoleon wars, slavery and Afghanistan, but it is unreasonable to compare the things you've mentioned to the deadliest military conflict in history which resulted in over 60 million people being killed. I mean excuse me if it did sound like I tried to discredit the idea if we could trust them. I know that generations almost have changed there, and that the mood against the majority of the population is rather peaceful. I have personally been to Germany a couple of times and I think it is a wonderful place :shy: About the NATO: well this is your opinion. NATO is too hard to understand nowadays, the clearness of their mission becomes more and more pale. I find it strange that the organization still exists. I know they are meant to protect their member countries from threats, but despite the fact that the 'cold war' is over, they still seem to regard Russia as the Soviet Union a.k.a. the main threat of the western world. Russia and Europe could belong together :derpmas: Well I mean they could co-exist peacefully in the past, and they had good and stable trade relationship.
