teo 609
(A) Majority of people I know disagree with the US's constant intervention in conflicts. (B) I never said it had anything to do with being in a conflict. I mentioned breaking international law and the Geneva convention. They're two completely different things. I only said they're civilized and you replied with a sarcastic comment. And anyway I don't want to make a discussion you and I both know very well that what I said is true. You can disagree with their policies and still acknowledge this fact.

And anyway I don't want to make a discussion you and I both know very well that what I said is true. You can disagree with their policies and still acknowledge this fact. Simplifying nations as being civilised or not is overly crude, which is why in an earlier I admitted that Israel has the best track for gay rights in the region. That however doesn't excuse how it "deals" with the Palestinian-Israel crisis (again oversimplifying, but I'm not gonna delve into it) and for that reason I don't think it's any more "civilised" (to use the blunt term) than any other part of the region - but for different reasons obviously. I'm aware that you meant no harm or anything more than the topic of gay rights by your comment, which is why my initial response was so short - but I just don't feel it justifiable to the thousands of innocent deaths during the summer (more including previous conflicts) to regard its actions as "civilised". Oh, so we are talking about the conflict after all. And btw they're not the most "civilized" only on gay rights, but on human rights in general. And I'm obviously talking about their own nation and country. I choose not discuss the conflict on this forum, it always turns messy, because the way I see things is that there's two parties to blame, and both have some wrongdoings, rather than "the villain" and "the victim" in this war(that I personally think it's more about religion rather than territories). So I wasn't talking about that when I posted my first comment. I'm actually against war and violence in any form, but again - you can disagree with Israel and acknowledge their accomplishments at the same time. Well, Israel likes to think of it as all being theirs so The settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem; neither of which are internationally regarded as Israel I can praise their accomplishments and I think Israeli culture is interesting and would actually like to visit it at one point, but you can't call killing ~2000 innocent civilians (in a closed territory - Israel and Egypt's doing I guess) civilised. Melech 9,900
I'm confused as to what the IDs are for though Also, it's not technically true that they're the only countries with "gay rights", (Jordan, Bahrain and part of Palestine allow same s-xual activity) but it's true that they have the most, which should be obvious given its huge ties to the west Palestine ? seriously? It remains one of the most taboo human rights issues in the region. Homos-xuality is illegal within Gaza. In Israel gays can live gay unlike in the countries you mentioned. (A) Majority of people I know disagree with the US's constant intervention in conflicts. (B) I never said it had anything to do with being in a conflict.
