Sinéad O'Connor comes for Gaga and Miley

O’Connor has written a series of open letters expressing ‘motherly’ concern for young artists including Justin Bieber and Britney Spears, singling out Cyrus’s Wrecking Ball video, in which the former child star appeared naked and licking a sledgehammer, advising Cyrus that she was being ‘pimped’ by the music industry.

‘This isn’t about Miley or any other personalities,’ Sinéad states clearly this afternoon.

‘It’s an issue of child protection. Her audience needs to be protected. She is selling s-x and s-xual imagery to very young kids and it’s wrong, it’s reckless and it’s dangerous.

‘I was right when I said the Catholic church s-xualised minors and I’m right about the music business doing the same. I know what I’m talking about.

‘Miley even looks like a kid herself. She’s a very young-looking young woman. She’s come up through Disney, she was Hannah Montana, the whole thing.

'The music industry is s-xualising the artists that look most like kids.

‘Lady Gaga, who knows that half her audience are minors, was inviting them to simulate masturbation. What kind of people do that?’

But shouldn’t these women – both adults, Miley is 22 soon, Gaga is 28 – be allowed to express themselves as artists, however tasteless it may seem?

‘As an artist you have to be conscious of minors,’ O’Connor contends.

‘If she [Miley] wants to stuff dollars down her throat and wear next to nothing – fine. But not in an environment where minors are going to be exposed to it.

‘There’s no excuse for endorsing this type of reckless behavior because that leads to child s-x trafficking and ultimately the deaths of children.

'It’s that dangerous. It’s well known that paedophilic people hang around industries where children are. Look at the Church, look at schools, look at the music business.’

Such bull**** in my opinion, pop stars are not here to parent children.

What a stupid remark :smh:

Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen

She has the right to her opinion (as much as I disagree with her) so let's cut out the vile disrespectful comments.

When did Gaga invite us to masterbate? :duck:

And it's not an artist's responsibility to raise the child. It's the parent's. There's plenty of ways of keep children from viewing things that may be inappropriate for them.
