The good thing about all this, even if you're not a fan of the performance (i am),  is that the music writers are giving her all positive write-ups.

and more have put out articles with the video

The best comes from Spin:

This is just another great move to keep her in the right light for successful next-era promo.

Awesome  :legend: You should also put this in the Review section.

Classic Rock?! I feel so old. I was a teenager when this song came out. Feels like yesterday. I was going NUTS over Gaga singing this song on twitter and I guess Linda Perry saw my passion because next thing I see she starts following ME! I wanna see Gaga do an alternative ROCK album in the future!

What's Up was pretty old fashioned when it came out though, it's very 70's

Wow, when i read the song name i didn't had any idea what song this is, but when she sang i definately remember hearing this on the radio long long time ago, funny that i didn't knew the name of the song who sings or didn't undestood any of the lyrics back then.

Similar experience... the heys and yeahs part of the song sounded familiar to me, from the radio or TV.

Seriously, anyone complaining about the screaming should watch the non-professional recordings where you can actually hear the audience. She really sings along with the atmosphere of the arena. She's not screaming into silence like how it sounds/looks in the video she uploaded.

I can only imagine how amazing it must've been to be there

There was no silence at all! I was there and it indeed was one of the highlights of the show :) I think it sounds like that because the audio is taken from the board and so we hear directly the feed from her mic!

I never liked that song. It's a karaoke staple and I've heard dozens of people do it over the years. Weren't 4 Non Blondes a one hit wonder with this? Gaga sounds great for the most part, but her Aguilara style isn't really appealing to me. I will say, DAMN that girl can sing! Not many people can do it like that! Maybe it sounds better in concert. I've read Katy, Madge, and Brit fans slamming this cover on various boards, but imagine how it would sound if ANY one of those three had attempted it? HOO HOO! :teehee:

If you watch different footage it's not as harsh sounding. The one from the OP is straight from her mic so to say, I think if you were in the audience it didn't come off that strong.

And I cannot imagine those 3 people even trying something like this :duck:
