A group of Ontario university students trying to prove that not all Canadians were Islamophobic following the shooting death of Cpl. Nathan Cirillo appear to have made their point, after one of them was attacked while pretending to harass a friend who was dressed in a traditional Muslim gown. In a video shot in downtown Hamilton, Ont., the student approached the Muslim man and told him he couldn’t get on a bus dressed like a terrorist. In four separate instances, bystanders stepped in and defended the victim. The “social experiment†was recorded on video and posted to YouTube on Monday. I mean i think its great that bystanders stood up for the 'muslim' friend but it doesnt really prove that Canadians have no tolerance for racism, it just proves that a handful of people dont. Like, if you did that here in Scotland, of course some people would intervene, but it doesnt mean there isnt a huge amount of bigoted people here as well if you get what i mean ? There are racists everywhere. I know for sure that first generation of Pakistanis migrants are pretty much hated there because of culture clash. They assaults gay couples. Shamlessly parking on handicapped lot. And so.much.more. It just they don't express it publicly. But behind doors. Between the family members. I have witnessed these by myself whenever going back to my BF's place in Delta. Oh by the way, his apartement complex are exclusively inhabited by Caucasians. There used to be a Pakistani family there. But the other residents of the building chased them out cos many of them not pleased with the sharp aromas whenever they cook, which to me and my BF actually smells nice.
