Energy Companies will find it profitable to invest in these without subsidies and that could lead to less disputes between environmentalists, and those who worry more about economic matters It makes up a relatively small portion of enery production now, but by 2050 its expected to surpass all forms of energy including coal, natural gas, oil, hydro-electricity and even nuclear! Here where I live there is a company literally GIVING AWAY solar panels to residents to get the word around about them. It's obviously limited to how many is give away, but it's still good. We are moving to cleaner and more abundant resources, and they are becoming cheaper too. 2. This is great, for two reasons! 1. We are moving to cleaner and more abundant resources, and they are becoming cheaper too. 2. Also, I am doing an assignment for a class that involves collecting scientific articles, so thanks for the help! haha np! :) And as a guy that worries a lot about the economy, this is also great news... The environment affects us but so does the economy. Most people are usually only sensitive to one issue or the other but rarely both and people dont have balanced views and opposite parties just argue nnow its gonna be easier to be more sustainable without destroying the economy and finances in the process Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

LFTR though. well renewables are newer forms of technology than fossil fuels so they are more premative and inneficient still. But they are progressing rapidly. Wind and solar now is more cost effective and reliable than the same energy 10 years ago And im proud to say my Country (well my background Nationality) Portugal has played a huge role in solar research Ive always been skeptical of rushing into renewables because... well, to me the economy is a major issue also... if we transitioned into green energy as quickly as some activists push for, wed totally destroy our finances and cripple the economy in the process, its just too expensive but gradually over time as it becomes cheaper and cheaper, and more and more efficient, we can have our cake and eat it too. Because there are physical limits to efficiency and distribution using solar cells. While limits have been predicted and surpassed previously, these are not within 35 years of current technology. :P I believe it is substantially more likely that there will be a development in nuclear energy.
