The album is so good, way better than most things released by her competitors. It deserves this success :legend:

Even though she didn't break the record, being the only artist EVER to have three albums to open with 1 million+ sales, let alone consecutively, in the 2010's is far more impressive than keeping a record by 30k that was made at the peak of album sales :toofunny:

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

- 1989 is just the 19th album to sell a million copies in a week since SoundScan started tracking sales in 1991. Of the last four million-selling weeks, which have all occurred since 2010, three of them are owned by Swift.

AND THE FOURTH ONE OWNED BY GAGA.    :gaga: Iconic queens.

Congrats to Taylor! This is amazing, and this album definitely deserves it. Flawless.  :applause:

In the age where no one is compelled to leave their homes when they can just torrent albums instead of spending a penny, this is REALLY impressive.

Good for her :applause: A bit surprised she fell short by that much though, considering previous forecasts, but then I didn't even think she'd sell a million, so :emma:

Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn
