The police used watercannons and pepperspray to spread the protesters that were throwing bottles and firework at them. A police spokesman could not give numbers on how many arrestations have taken place and how many wounded these riots have caused. About 2500 German soccer-hooligans went on the streets to rally against radical Islamism, under the slogan "hooligans against salafism". 2000 anti-fascist counter-demonstrators(?) committed to tolerance, under the slogan "together against racism and religious fundamentalism". The hooligans chanted slogans like "Immigrants go away from this country!". Many of the hooligans were drunk. Police tried to keep the two protests from both sides of the central station away from eachother. Hope nobody is injured The salafis are muslims who follow the Prophet and first three generations of muslims, in belief, understanding of religion, in the way they pray, look, the beard and everything. What they have in common with many jihadis (who are actually from takferee/khawaarij sect) is the outter appearance and belief that religion should be practised in "purest form" without any innovation (this doesn't mean not using mobile phones etc. but innovation in the way of worship). Media and many have been mixing these two, but they are against(opposing) each other. Most salafis talk openly and actively against terrorism. So some people invented term "salafi jihadi" to separate these two. Oh well I was actually busy with learning and working, they should try it,too because then they'll have no time anymore to walk around in my city and fight with each other .
