Tropico 4,145
Shake it off isn't s-xual... EDIT: I see this has already been covered On topic: Are you really comparing all of these to a song about dancing in the club? Out of all of Gaga's singles... Who even mentioned dancing in the club? And Gaga literally has ONE singles about dancing in the club. Just Dance. A quick run through of the meaning of her singles: Just Dance - partying in the club Poker Face - Bis-xuality Eh, Eh - A breakup Love Game - Sex Paparazzi - The obession the media has with famous people. The rise and fall of the famous. Bad Romance - The fear of love/s-x Telephone - Suffocating in your work and love life Alejandro - The fear of love/s-x Born This Way - loving who you are Judas - loving someone who is bad for you The Edge of Glory - The last moments of life/remembeing dead loved one You and I - Gaga's relationship with Luc Carl Marry The Night - embracing your dark past Applause - Gaga's return to fame and her love for performing Do What U Want - a huge f--k you to the media G.U.Y. - Feminism/Being dominant and submissive at the same time And then there's the CTC singles but whatever. --- OT: Marina's album is coming out soon so I don't care. This years been good for me. Ultraviolence Cheek To Cheek Queen of The Clouds 1000 Forms of Fear And soon FROOT. :excited: ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢

MonsterOfSpain 8,318
I don't think 2014 has been a bad year for pop music. There have been amazing songs and some of my favorite albums like Ultraviolence, My Everything, The New Classic and Cheek to Cheek were released this year. And there are some interesting albums coming soon like 1989 or The Pinkprint.
Neptune 156
Pop music has been kind of boring since 2011. I don't think even ARTPOP made it interesting. Gaga needs to come up with something experimental and commercial at the same time. She can do it, she just needs some time to get inspired.
brizoda 3,855
Excuse you, but Tove Lo's Habit is flawless and such a bop when you're high and it's plain catchy. when you're high?
Jesse Pinkman 4,660
Tbh pop music hasn't been the same since its peak in 2009. 2009/2011 were decent, but now it's just so sad lol. It's science, bitch
Noel Kahn 2
Pop music is still okay. It's not as good as it used to be, but it's not *that* bad.

CHANTEL 2
Im only worried about Pitbull, Fall out boys, Maroon 5, Meghan Trainor, Echo Smith and sam smith (not in the top 10 but still). Those are terrible the rest's good. Pop music is still okay. It's not as good as it used to be, but it's not *that* bad. exactly. I'm SO happy Alternative/Indie/Alternative-Pop is doing good/better than before these days too, it's so good
DERPSTER 0
im still in love with whatever happened in 2012 when all artists went crazy. bad romance, till the world ends, who you are, etc. im kinda glad it's toned down over the years, it was very intense for a while to me. Benji 20,113
I really dislike it when people discredit the pop charts, they're simply the most popular songs at the moment and just because you don't like them doesn't mean they're bad because look at how many people DO like them. I personally don't pay much attention to the pop charts as I normally only like a selection of songs in there and I listen to a lot of music so most of the music isn't that new to me but then I wouldn't discredit them. People say the same stuff when Gaga is slaying with comments like "What is music coming to" etc so it makes more sense to just let the charts do what they do and not feel annoyed or disappointed your taste isn't "slaying" or whatever EDIT - This is also the case with pop since we even began making charts of what's popular, this isn't anything new.
