Rude. The song is not at all up to standard. Learn to deal with the opinions of others like an adult.
You are the one that needs to learn how to express his opinion without insulting other's all the time and I'm not the first one that says that to you.

Im never first to be aggressive. Only ever in response to personal comments against me. For example: this thread.

Hell no. He is the second worst producer ever. Only Will.i.am sucks more than him :madge: Im here for true pop masterpieces by Gaga and RedOne combo

DWUW and Applause are pop masterpieces and, if you didn't know, they are produced by DJWS. :madge:

You don't hear Calvin ft. Kelis in Applause? Ok, ear check for you.

And in what world was Roar well received? Commercially, obviously. Money makes the world go 'round, but in addition to that, nobody was really very interested in Applause' dated sound. It was not only dated, but if it'd come out at the time when the sound was relevant, it wouldn't have really smashed anyway because it's simply not very good. The production was NOTHING like Bowie at all. Nothing. We're not talking vocals, unless DJWS sang on the track.

If the song was as amazing as people are making it out to be, why didn't it have a huge commercial and cultural impact?

It's one thing to like the song - I don't really hate it - but it's not very good at all, from a production point of view.

Im just using it as a point of comparison to the other pop songs I hear on the radio and its definitely miles ahead. Its nothing groundbreaking buts its a refreshing, well constructed pop song. Your making it sound like its some sloppy stale ass mess. DJWS and Gaga clearly put alot of love and effort into it which should at least be appreciated. You sounds like you have some bias against DJWS and your just finding reasons to hate on his work...

I have no bias against him. I loved GH and thought Gaga let it down with her writing because it could've been amazing but fell short of it.

Applause, as much as they worked on it, was never going to be great. It's just nothing special. It's probably down there with Starstruck in terms of how generic it is (sound wise, not lyrically).

A good example would be - can you imagine anyone else using the instrumental on a track? I struggle to think of people that couldn't use it or haven't used something similar.

tbh I want Gaga to have different producers for every album

so each new album will sound fresh and different

DJWS's been doing pretty well because BTW and ARTPOP sounds very different I just hope it will continue to change

RedOne's production also changed from TFM to BTW (but he's still my favorite)

Cause once you let it go you better know it's gone

Out everything said in this thread, the only thing I notice is how RedOne is literally the word Re-Done.  :classy:

As for the Shadow, i'm indifferent. I'd rather her work with brand new producers but as long she makes really good music I couldn't care less.

DJWS didn't do TEOG..

I'm excited for new Gaga music! DJWS will do fine. I just don't want flat, plastic-y sounding vocals. Let her voice shine. It's her greatest asset.

Zoey Brooks

He produced such musical perfection as Bloody Mary, Government Hooker, The Edge of Glory, Born This Way, ARTPOP, Sexxx Dreams, and Swine. It can't go wrong.
