Jimmy Darling 1 Posted October 14, 2014 Share Posted October 14, 2014 "Robert Downey Jr Bringing CIVIL WAR To CAPTAIN AMERICA 3" Robert Downey, Jr. is reportedly signed on to reprise his role as Iron Man in “Captain America 3,†a film that will kick off the “Civil War†storyline. The plot will pit Stark against Captain America’s alter-ego Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans, as they feud over the Superhero Registration Act, which forces anyone with superhuman abilities to reveal their identities to the U.S. government and agree to act as a police force for the authorities. Stark supports the program, but Rogers does not, saying it threatens civil liberties, causing sides to be taken and Rogers, among others, to go on the run to avoid arrest. The moral question and battle with his Avengers teammate essentially makes Stark a villain of sorts in “Captain America 3,†providing Downey with a meaty role he could play out into future Marvel films, including a fourth “Avengers.†Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

The reason it was so big in comics because it affected all branches of Marvel comics. The X-men dealt with it, Spider Man was a huge part in it, the F4, so on. The reason it was so big in comics because it affected all branches of Marvel comics. The X-men dealt with it, Spider Man was a huge part in it, the F4, so on. With just, what, 8-10 superheroes, it doesn't work. Also, designate this as rumor. That's a good point. It'd suffer because heroes like the X Men and Spiderman are currently under Fox and Sony, not Marvel Studios, so they can't be a part of it. Marvel needs to buy them back or something. It'd suffer because heroes like the X Men and Spiderman are currently under Fox and Sony, not Marvel Studios, so they can't be a part of it. Marvel needs to buy them back or something. Even story wise, it falls flat. The main idea behind Civil War was the Super Human Registration Act... But none of the MCU heroes, other than Netflix Daredevil, have secret identities... which is the major point of the SHRA. But not sure it will be Thanos either since Thanos now belonged to Guardians. Unless Guardians will have crossover in the sequel? Also, I believe Ant Man might be the next Avenger to join.
