The world economic outlook just keeps getting bleaker as the largest economies enter recession/stagnation. There are 4 main cylinders of growth when refereeing to the most important economies: Europe as a whole, China, Japan and USA

Europe: on brink of entering recession again

Japan: On the verge of a triple-dip recession (3 recessions in a short period of time)

China: Has a relatively healthy economy but is facing a typical slowdown of a Country that has matured too much to rely on just exports and must make a painfully slow transition towards a more consumption based economy as wages and purchasing power rise for everyday citizens.

This leaves the US as the only major component of the world economy that is doing well to help kick start growth again as the world enters its 7th year of economic turmoil

Then people say Americans are ethnocentric. :toofunny:

If half of Americans cared enough, we definitely have the capacity and manpower to work our asses off to get the world economy jump started again. The problem I think stems from the labor pool gap from the rest of the population, nationally. More people are needed to work and more jobs are needed to get exports and imports pumping strong again. Every economy depends on primary industries in energy, technology, and manufacturing, while secondary industries grow to support the primary personnel, hence why specialization is important for other economies to flourish.

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

to some degree... although the worlds second largest economy in terms of economic activity (still #1 in GDP using the raw market value method)... it doesnt make up as large a percentage of the world economy as it used to

Also the US is more domestic than most Nations. Yes you export and import. But trade makes up a smaller percentage of your economy than most. The US manufactures a lot of its own high products such as machinery for instance. Then theres the service sector.

The US imports less of its things and exports less of its things than most developed Nations. It only has as much impact WW as it does due to its size. It is still however a great influence

And thats a big issue... ageing population leading to more retirements, and more people staying longer at school is leading to a chronic problem in the developed world of a falling labor force participation rate. The economy can never be as productive and as strong when it reaches "full employment" if the people that make up full employment is a lower number than before

My comment was supposed to be a joke tho to make fun of the american centered people tho and Economy especially  :later:

If Europeans cared enough they could too :rip:

Let's not forget Europe is commercially more powerful than the US
