Morphine Prince 109,655 Posted October 8, 2014 Share Posted October 8, 2014 A Vermont mom and her boyfriend killed her disabled son by dumping a deadly dose of alcohol in his IV tube, police said. Melissa Robitille and Walter Richter III were charged with second-degree murder Tuesday for 13-year-old Isaac Robitille's August death, WCAX reported. Police believe the two poisoned an IV normally used for fluids and medications with liquor  when he died, his blood-alcohol content was .146, nearly twice the legal limit, police said. Isaac was born with multiple disabilities: On her blog, Robitille explained he had a nervous system disorder and his brain never fully developed. Doctors predicted he would die before he turned 6 months old, she wrote. At 13-years-old, he required a feeding tube and intravenous tubes to stay alive and depended on the assistance of caretakers. Police said Melissa Robitille and her boyfriend, Walter Richter III, poisoned her disabled son's IV tube with a lethal dose of alcohol. But a toxicology report later revealed his blood's high alcohol content, leading to the couple's Tuesday arrests. Robitille and Richter are in police custody in Hardwick. Police have not set a date for their arraignment. Last year, Robitille referred to the teen as her "Little Man," on her blog. "He's a delightfully happy little boy, loves math, hugs, kisses, and his dog," she wrote. "I adore him." Im not trying to excuse the actions of the parents because obviously killing your child is not right but we don't know what led to this event.
