But no ones know this bra is from this tour.

You're kidding? People, to this day still chuck on a cone bra and put their hair up in a pony tale because of that one look in this tour, it was huge.

What does the Monster Ball exactly bring in memorable fashion or performances when compared to the Blonde Ambition tour?

Memorables? Most definately.

ICONIC? i don't think so.

Like i said:

Iconic? Doubt it.

Memorable? For sure.

Well we gotta agree to disagree

Urgh, silly cun+s.

TMB is iconic, or will become iconic, as time passes. As people realise what a feat of hard work it was to move a tour from theatres to stadiums over the course of it's run. The iconic nature will also be due to how ****ing HUGE Gaga was during the tour. She was THE popstar.

Blonde Ambition is iconic now because it's already had the time for people to create hype for it over the years. People have realised what it was and what it wanted to be, and what it achieved.

The only reason TMB could possibly be less iconic than Blonde Ambition is because it hasn't had the time to become iconic with age, as all things that are destined to become iconic do.

The Blonde Ambition tour is iconic and the Monster Ball tour is iconic. It's not like one act robs the significance of the other. This is a faulty comparison to undercut the impact of the global success and domination of the Monster Ball as Madonna has done with her tours. Remember that Gaga had just wrapped up the Fame Ball and was still a fresh artist on the scene. For someone to gain such globally renowned recognition within a year and a half of her debut isn't some blink on the radar. It was history in the making, remember how many awards she received in 2010 alone? TMB was like her presidential campaign and she won.

Do your own research.

I don't think the cone bra makes that tour iconic tbh

I'm talking about the reception of the tour at its time. It featured immensely controversial elements that were really the first time they occurred in pop culture (and have been re-used by an endless stream of artists, including Gaga): the use of religious iconography and s-xual provocation. It is literally mentioned as "iconic" by journalists and magazines and even the idea of the fashion element as a source of provocation was entirely unique in pop performance. The show mixed pop music with theatre and performance art for the first time on such a scale. That is the groundwork for Gaga's career as a whole.

All of that has been so influential that it's just a cornerstone in the evolution of pop performance. Which is why it deserves to be called iconic. It changed the game and people who know pop culture know that it's iconic.

Only the religious image was a new thing though (at least in Pop music maybe) but Madonna was not the first artist that used s-xual provocation. The show was definitely very iconic but I don't get why the first big Lady Gaga Tour isn't iconic. As you said the Tout was unique because of Gaga bing new but Lady Gaga as persona in pop culture is iconic herself. Of course Madonna's Tour has more innovations but it's many years ago as well.

Also we are all talking bull**** cause Madonna's Tour took ages to become iconic, how will we judge if TMB will be iconic 4 years later. We can guess but we can't really tell.

Innovation is immediately obvious. It's just a fact that nothing in Gaga's tours, except for superior lighting/stage techniques, wasn't already done (or even invented in some cases) in the Blond Ambition Tour. Which is the reason for journalists constantly comparing them in the reviews of Gaga's tours.

I see your point of view, for you something being iconic doesn't only rely on innovation, in your point of view it probably relies more on the idea that people remember it as something remarkable. And I will say that some Gaga moments will be remembered as such, but it will be clear (in my opinion) that she only revived pop cultural forces that were brought into play by others. The Blond Ambition Tour is a tour that brought new elements to the game of pop music. That is where I stand.

Gaga was the first pop artist that created a persona and made her whole life a performance. Bowie did something similar but never to Gaga's extend. Gaga made her life a performance as a whole.

That has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

It has to do with the fact that you said that Gaga has brought nothin gnew to the Pop ecene (except if you wanted to say to the tours)
