When was Tony's last grammy performance

The same year when he got his last Best Traditional Pop album win.

Gaga's last GRAMMY performance was also the same year when she scored her last GRAMMY win/s.

Hopes for a win even got higher.

Several albums saw big sales gains following Sunday night's Grammy Awards, but most American Idol acts didn't get to participate in the bounty. After singing with Jason Aldean on the telecast, Kelly Clarkson saw weekly sales of her Stronger album climb 51%, but no other Idol act on the Billboard 200 saw increased sales last week, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The Civil Wars, whose Joy Williams has contributed songs to David Archuleta's albums, look to be the breakout act from the show. Week-to-week sales of the duo's Barton Hollow album nearly tripled after they performed an abbreviated version of the song Sunday. Six-award winner Adele, of course, won big again, as sales of 21 nearly doubled from the previous week. Her debut album, 19, also climbed back into the top 10.

Whitney Houston's sales skyrocketed after her death Saturday. The late singer placed four albums and two soundtracks in the top 200.

Idol albums

Kelly Clarkson, Stronger (31,000 weekly, +51%, 568,000 total) (#13 Billboard 200)
Scotty McCreery, Clear as Day (12,000, -2%, 926,000) (#47 BB200)
Daughtry, Break the Spell (9,000, 0 change, 376,000) (#63 BB200)
Kellie Pickler, 100 Proof (7,000, -33%, 46,000) (#63 BB200)
Lauren Alaina, Wildflower (4,000, -2%, 244,000) (#169 BB200)
Carrie Underwood, Some Hearts (2,000, +19%, 7.168 million)
Mandisa, What If We Were Real (2,000, +16%, 145,000)
Carrie Underwood, Play On (2,000, -1%, 2.08 million)
Daughtry, Daughtry (2,000, +6%)

Idol-related albums

Various, 2012 Grammy Nominees (51,000, +50%, 137,000) (#8 Billboard 200)

David Guetta, Nothing but the Beat (14,000, +124%, 225,000) (#34 BB200)
Tony Bennett, Duets II (13,000, -29%, 783,000) (#37 BB200)

You'll be happy to know that I've also got track-sales data after a couple weeks where I didn't. I'll post that shortly.

And when I see that, sales are really important in our category

Tony Bennett's "Duets II" is an unstoppable force in the Grammy race for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. He won his first 10 bids in the category, losing only his most recent nod in 2009 for "A Swingin' Christmas." He lost that year to Grammy favorite Michael Buble.

Without Buble in the race this year, "Duets II" is likely to prevail just as the first "Duets" did in 2006. What further seals the deal is that Buble is among Bennett's duet partners. He also croons with Grammy darlings Lady Gaga, John Mayer, Sheryl Crow, Norah Jones, Carrie Underwood, and the late Amy Winehouse.

Barbra Streisand duetted with Bennett on "Smile" for that 2006 disc. She has contended in this category eight times for her solo efforts but never won. She is back this year with "What Matters Most," a collection of tunes by songwriters Alan and Marilyn Bergman. While the album was well-received, sales were tepid and Babs is likely to lose for the ninth time.

If Gaga wins, that'd be a nice way to enter her new era.

A nice red carpet appearance, a strong performance and GRAMMY win, and a sold out show after with the tour.

Maybe she will announce new album news if she wins.

Those sales include only the 2 hours after the Grammys 2012 on Sunday, the following week he had a bigger boost.

I also think he had a PBS Special the week before so that must explain the % dropping.

Found it. Duets II sold 20,000 the week following the Grammys. #27 (up from #37) on the BB200, but only peaked at #62 on iTunes after the Grammys.

I want Gaga to be introduced in shows during her next era as: "the 6 times Grammy award artist" :legend:

3 #1 albums, 6 Grammys, 11 top 10 singles, 5 global sold out tours (counting c2c), and the arguably the world's most famous pop star of the century

And the "only artist in history who won the top GRAMMY album awards for Dance, Pop, and Traditional Pop"

If only she'd release a full-on rock album with the genre's heavy favorites, she could become the first female artist to win the best rock album since Sheryl Crow in 1999. Queen of music variety, she can be.  :cryga:

I'm happy that Gaga is performing but it makes me sad that there's a big chance her award isn't being televised.

But then again like 10+ of Beyonce's Grammys weren't televised.

Is Barbara even going? lol

Imagine if she skips.. and wins.

Im sure we will get a flood of celebratory tweets and feel Gaga's happiness even if its not televised
