asana15 16,648
Just a footnote to PBS special. Not every PBS station in the US showed the special on Friday. In fact, less than half of them nationwide. In parts of New York state it was aired yesterday (Monday), some stations haven't scheduled it yet at all. It is a big country with many independent PBS affiliates. It most likely will be re-aired in November, this time with donation solicitation.

asana15 16,648
Good news What's that donation thing about? Since PBS stands for Public Broadcasting Service, its stations largely rely on financing that comes from private donations and grants. Popular scheduled programming is often interrupted to solicit donations and new membership. It goes on like that: for example if you, let's say, donate $50 - you will receive a CD of a broadcasted programming; if you donate $100 - you get a DVD, and if you donate $150 - you get both CD and DVD. Donations are tax-deductible. So, the phone lines are usually busy.
