This is literally sabotage. I hate conspiracy theories, but it's very clear that the media wants to demolish Gaga to bits.

You're damn right, There's a conspiracy to destroy her career. They're sad, pathetic, desperate attempt of demolishing her is obvious. It's absolutely ****ing disgusting. Look...what happened to Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. I pray to God that she doesn't end up like them.

the Media REALLY wants gaga to die, this is so unfair :smh:

Sadly, you're right. the Media/machine wants her to die. There're a conspiracy to kill her career or even more sinister to kill her. Look...what happen to Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. I pray to God that she doesn't end up like them.

Media loved ARTPOP a lot that they can't let go of it.  :coffee:

It certainly seems that way, doesn't it? They literally cannot stop talking about it :lmao:

So, I finally read the review. I disagree with it, of course, but I don't think it's quite as unprofessional as some are making it out to be. Anyway, I'd urge people to project maturity in replying to it, if you do.

The part which got me most was the end where he states that she's exploiting Tony Bennett and that they have zero chemistry. Has he watched any interview they've dine together? Has he heard Tony talk about Gaga?

Side note: if you are going to tweet him about the review, do it maturely. You don't want a revival of the "Lady Gaga fan are the most terrible people" in the media.

This reviewer has a regular tendency to be overly (and unreasonably) critical to Gaga, the artist. It's no longer a surprise he just blatantly went his way to show his dislike through this 1/4 rating. What's next? Give her a zero, or better yet, a negative, if that's not enough? Let him share his thoughts. That is his own. He's just making himself be tainted as a mere hater anyway. Look at how Angela Cheng became a laughingstock.

A good journalist would never want to be branded as biased. Obviously, this reviewer isn't one.

I wouldn't say "the media", it's just a certain subset.

the media is trying so hard and desperately to tarnish her image and career. They want her dead, sadly.

I strongly disagree. That's nothing but an exaggeration and unfair generalization. The reviews alone for Cheek to Cheek show that an overwhelming majority is appreciative of Gaga, both as a singer and as a brand. Let's not put on a false front that the "media (as a whole) hates her". This is just the 2nd truly negative review I've read so far, after the one from Slant. The media as a whole (i.e. the reputable ones, and not the tabloid) has greatly helped Gaga in turning her image as something larger than life, and they continue to do so with the critical reception C2C is getting.

It is sad to see such bad reviews but hopefully this just proves to Gags even more she needs to get the magic back. She's proven she can sing extremely well, she's proven she can deliver breath taking performances, let's bring them back or reinvent them.

I'm not shocked by the bad reviews and almost would say I expected them, she's left a bad taste in people's mouths and a jazz album isn't going to wash it away so they will bring up her previous effort, it is only natural.

theres like two bad reviews and a bunch of  positive ones.    Your argument doesn't work.

i still dont understand why every time when they do review of gaga's new album they bring up her old projects (in this case ARTPOP) imean every review i saw for c2c had ARTPOP in it.I mean why are they doing that if they are making review of 1 album they need to focus only on that album not to bring her whole carier in it.At the end of the day we need to learn to live with this kind of reviews beccause there will always be people liek this. Also i think we hoped so much that c2c will change the way critics see gaga but we all should have known that there is small chance for that.

I've got an "F" and a "C" and I got a "K" too And the only thing that is missing is a bitch like "U"

Tweeting does no good.  In cases like this, I always post my response where the reviewer's boss might read it ... in the responses in the paper or magazine.  My response:

"Your review only demonstrates your inability to present an honest, reasoned, well-researched review. It shows a lack of professionalism and an inability to do your job. It gives the LA Times a black eye and tries to turn it into a tabloid. You have only succeeded in giving journalism a bad name. And the fact that you are willing to malign someone without taking the time to learn the facts shows your lack of character as a person.  It is shameful that the LA Times has you on their staff."

I live outside the space time continuum.
