craig 680
Interesting read! I'm so happy that she seems to have found herself again through taking this time out of the pop world to work with Tony. I don't think it's an excuse or that's she's playing the victim, I think it's just how she is. I think she's a very emotional person and has a lot of ups and down in her happiness. Plus when she's originally promoting an album, she does have to sell it. So of course when ARTPOP was first being released she had to talk at least somewhat positively. I didn't think she talked about how free and creative ARTPOP was. I felt she'd be recovering from injury for awhile and was holding back or her personal life. She never promoted it like a fighter either.

I agree but she didn't outright say she was unhappy when she was initially promoting ARTPOP, although after a point it became quite apparent regardless. Willy Wonka 4
This is all I ever wanted for her. She inspired me to be strong and driven. I'm glad she's found her drive again.
Ronlop 6,882
This commercial stuttering in turn followed that “mess of my life†she mentioned. That was a pile-up of personal and professional troubles: a hip injury that put her in a wheelchair and necessitated the cancelling of the remainder of the world tour supporting 2011’s Born This Way album; a chronic marijuana habit; and fractious splits with her manager and with the stylist, fashion designer Nicola Formichetti, with whom she’d created many of her signature, eye-popping looks. She admits that she was suffering from a crisis of confidence. After schlepping around the lower rungs of the New York and Los Angeles music scenes from her late teens to her early twenties, she finally found success with the release of her debut album, The Fame, in 2008. But even though – or, because – she was the songwriter, “I was a 22- to 27-year-old girl in the studio with a lot of older men around me... So it’s quite scary for the corporations that I work with, because everyone relies on me to produce the creative. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/features/lady-gaga-interview-i-got-really-lost-for-a-while-i-didnt-even-know-who-i-was-anymore-9758412.html *

Haroon 49,685
I think that's taken out of context Does she have to change gears when singing with the stately old trouper? “Well, it’s not really a gear change so much as a change of partner and a change of intention. When I’m onstage with the ARTPOP Ball, the point of the show is to take what was the mess of my life and make art of it – to raise the spirit of artistic dreams and creativity and take all the things I was feeling in pain about, and rage...†She isn't calling the ARTPOP era the mess of her life at all She's calling the time between the abrupt end of The Born This Way Ball until the beginning of Applause a mess it seems Or just the bad experiences she endured overall
