tokyodisko 0
Yes is was designed to be a hit, but the commercial aspect wasn't the focus. The album clearly has true emotion, musical creativity. Gaga does wants her music to sell, but is simply not her focus. Her artistry comes first. Does it really? That's why Do What U Want got released instead of Venus. I truly think she does have creative compassion, but she's also a pop star, it's her job to say things like this and make money. Her artistry comes first when it can and is convenient, but otherwise no. She isn't dumb, she wouldn't ruin her career by allowing the artistry to flow all the time. In some cases I don't think it's good for creativity's sake either. She needs to stop talking about her past and future music and draw attention to C2C. Her next single release should do the hyping and talking for her.

DIVA 666
I'm all about Gaga making different/new genres of music, as long as it's what she truly feels in her soul. I'll be there opening night, picking up my album either way. However, I'm not entirely sure what she meant in regards to EDM not being authentic and such, because I happen to think its not what you make but how its made that determines somethings authenticity. I'll have to watch what Gaga does and says in the future though to truly understand her opinions on electronic music. One interview isn't enough in my book to determine her state of mind on the matter. We're all Stronger Together!

squeala 875
I don't expect her to do an EDM album or even EDM-inspired album the next album. I follow artists who always are experimenting and creatively need to do that and so get that. It's the way she is coming off in some of her statements that seems dismissive that I just didn't particularly care for.. Okay. I do think this particular case has been blown out of proportions and I think people need to remember that one of the definitions of "authentic" is made or done in the traditional or original way, or in a way that faithfully resembles an original
RBNLM 1,640
Gaga never said that "Electronic music is out" she said "electronic soud has been trending for a while" That's completely different...change the title. She's not shading anything.
Princess Die 1,864
And then she finds out he wrote the album for a straight boy that will never want him. :Smh: Nod if you wanna make love with the enemy. ❤
Stefani328 321
Gaga knows electronic music is out. It is fading on the radio. It isn't helping her anymore liked it when she first came out. She needs a new sound. I love ARTPOP and all of her albums but I feel like electronic music overshadows her voice, not all the time but sometimes. I prefer her acoustic performances because of this. I don't think she's dissing her work. Sam Smith is amazing. I love him and I'm happy to see her praising him. I would love a pop album that isn't heavily influenced by dance music. Slayer 9,227
It is important to recognize her as an artist. So yes it is important for her career I agree it will be important in changing her as an artist. But it's not the most important of her career. I'm actually a little shocked that she would think that after seeing how many people she helped with Born This Way. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!! yASSsss 35,510
no matter what type of songs she makes.i just want her to rule the charts again.i'll be fine if she releases an album full of different fart sounds. Pop 4,541
I'm guessing she figured out that she was about 2 years late with the ARTPOP sound. There's a reason why Dope and Gypsy are the best songs on the album. The Taylor Brigade: KNOCKOUT

Economy 49,531
This is her most important album, songs she didn't write, jazz? Oh, my, what a slap to what I held dear about her. I just can't with how she's all over the place with her comments dissing one thing or another and the drama of it all. What a dis to Born This Way, that Cheek 2 Cheek is her most important album.. And electronic music can touch the soul. No reason to be so dismissive saying it's trendy. There's plenty of great electronica still going on. Just say you have other avenues you want to explore next album. I just feel she comes off bitter because her electronica infused album wasn't a massive success. I am all for Gaga going another direction, just not the negative feel I get. We've had plenty of authentic singers, Gaga. Adele, Lorde. It's not like electronica was the only genre out there selling. Oh, well. she says a lot of crap and contradicts herself in old comments all the time and ive stopped leastning tbh I also thought the same thing. This is an album of covers and the music videos had very little performance art to them (at least in comparison to her past work) In no way shape or form does it make sense for her to say this is her most important album yet And just because something is generic, EDM or mainstream doesnt make it unauthentic, talantless or bad. I dont friggin get why everyone acts that way
