SummerGirl21 787
She isn't dissing her entire discography. She is saying Electronic is out. And guess what? IT IS. I don't think she thinks all her electronic music is trash or anything. I think she will still make pop records and even electronic records. But I also expect her to put out music that is more raw. I hope to see more of the Gaga that wrote "Oh Well" and "Brown Eyes."
Rolodex of Hate 1,761
This is her most important album, songs she didn't write, jazz? Oh, my, what a slap to what I held dear about her. I just can't with how she's all over the place with her comments dissing one thing or another and the drama of it all. What a dis to Born This Way, that Cheek 2 Cheek is her most important album.. And electronic music can touch the soul. No reason to be so dismissive saying it's trendy. There's plenty of great electronica still going on. Just say you have other avenues you want to explore next album. I just feel she comes off bitter because her electronica infused album wasn't a massive success. I am all for Gaga going another direction, just not the negative feel I get. We've had plenty of authentic singers, Gaga. Adele, Lorde. It's not like electronica was the only genre out there selling. Oh, well. Bless you for this post We have no legal choice but to stan

djBuffoon 12,115
Why? I'm just saying the album was clearly looking to replicate the hit electronic sound and song structure that worked so well for her in her first 2 eras. She even said every song was designed to be a hit, and Zedd was called in by Interscope cause he's the premiere electronic hit maker today. The album was EDM, but also (in my opinion) more creative than it seems like you're giving it credit for. The soundscape was far more varied and intricate than merely replicating a hit electronic sound. I can't imagine her fine-tuning tracks like "Venus", "MJH", "Swine", etc. and actually thinking they would make a splash on the radio. Not for lack of quality, but just because they're more aggressive and out-there than what passes muster for a hit single these days. And yes, Zedd is a hitmaker and "GUY" sounds like a hit. But again, more creativity than I would expect on his part, I'm assuming due to Gaga's collaboration. Also, and I could be wrong, but it seemed that you were implying that ARTPOP was inauthentic. XoXoJoanneGaga 629
I was actually referencing Dope's performance at the YouTube awards. And now we know she was actually being genuine with all that cry. Yet, during the performance, many people were turned off because she was all over the place and "so real" that it seemed fake... I really don't think songs like Princess Die are the way to go. Still not even half exciting as something like Venus, for example. Well I think this album will be a real test of Gaga's artistry, cause I think at this point most people aren't expecting anything from her that she hasn't already done. People want "another Poker Face" or "another DITD" and they're thinking of her future music in a pretty constrictive way. She tried to give them that with songs like G.U.Y. and Venus. I think this is her chance to prove that she can reinvent herself and still make incredible music, and that she can be one step ahead of her fans and the music industry, instead of being one step behind them trying to pander to their taste. Levine 23,555
She is inspired and we haven't seen her like this for a long time. She's focused. She knows the direction of the music in the next years (we said that with ARTPOP she didn't understand what people wanted to hear). She is ready! She's stronger than ever. Those words are pure GOLD yet I'm reading a lot of negative comments by people who didn't get what she meant. Unbelievable. Do a favor to yourselves and go stan for someone else. Thank you. Quark 7,098
No, she just said music is taking a new overall direction. Did she just shade her entire discography Good for you. But let be honest, mainstream electronic music is not "authentic" because is made mostly just to sell. Electronic music is what I like Sam Smith doesn't connect to me Stay With Me sounds like some gospel song
