Slojo 51
JazzWax Review --- Excellent http://www.jazzwax.com/2014/09/tony-and-lady-cheek-to-cheek.html Quite : "Which brings us to Cheek to Cheek. After 30 complete listens, I found the album engaging on many levels. First, Lady is far better at navigating Songbook standards than you'd imagine. She clearly understands the idiom and has the vocal technique and sensitivity to deliver convincing versions of favorite songs. Second, she knows how to improviseâ€â€you can hear it in virtually all of the album's tracks."

I love this bit :) Jazz does tend to have more partisan fans than any other form of music. As a result, it's not easy for non-jazz artists to slip through the door without being strip-searched for motive, chops and knowledge. Hence, many jazz fans have been left in shock, as if Tony brought home a date from the other side of the tracks.
GypsyPrince 237
So I looked through all the negative user reviews and here's what I found: 1. Some of them only made one review and that is for CTC, meaning to say they created the account specifically to hate Gaga. 2. Half of the negative reviewers who gave Gaga a ZERO rating also gave Lana's albums (BTD, Ultraviolence) a TEN. And we all know Lana fans only existed from Gaga bandwagonners, so they're also out to hate Gaga. 3. The other half of the negative reviewers also gave Katy's Prism a TEN. Nuff said. 4. 90% of the negative reviews gave ZERO which is a bit of a stretch. Conclusion: None of them know what they're talking about.
giskardsb 12,565
^^^^^ Stan's are literally ruining the online experience and enhancing the image of pop as superficial and trivial. Their own worst enemy.

Unlike Madonna, Gaga has about ten career possibilities. She’ll be able to do anything she wants, especially Broadway, when her fan base ages out. Movie musicals? Why not? We are stuck with her, but in a good way. If she takes care of that voice, Lady Gaga will be getting a Kennedy Center honor and lots of other things 30 and 40 years from now."
