What is going on with pop fanbases?

Rivalries are a thing, this exists in every genre. Metallica fans fight with Iron Maiden fans who fight with Slayer fans etc. etc.

People like different things and defend their "faves". To this, I have no issue with.

They're fighting over music. Who's the greatest drummer? Who plays the best guitar solos?

But pop music? It's not even about music anymore. Sites like pawsdownlittlemonsters simply should not exist. I have never in my life seen such an obsession with tearing down someone. YEARS later the hate just doesn't go away. On youtube the same trolls in every video post. Once a youtube video goes up by ANY artist, it is IMMEDIATELY targeted by the other fanbases and attacked over the most trivial bull****.

"Oh my god! How dare she wear that dress that kind of resembles what my favorite pop star wore!"

"Look how ugly she is!"

"Her makeup is so unoriginal!"

And it doesn't stop there- Gaga's own fanbase is turning their back on her because they think she owes them something. She can't even make creative decisions and grow as an artist because little managers feel like if she's not churning out pop records, then she isn't worth looking at.

Can you imagine being in her shoes? She is an artist. Yes, she started in pop but think of artists like the beatles who started as pop acts but then played in a variety of genres because their talent wasn't contained to a single genre.

I think it upsets me because she has done SO MUCH for her fanbase, and she gets such little back, including a lack of respect.

What is going on with pop fanbases? Can it ever get better?

Welcome to the internet :madge:

Destiny is for losers. It’s just a stupid excuse to wait for things to happen instead of making them happen

Its in our human nature to be biased towards the things we love and hateful towards the things that can be viewed as intimating to the things we love, we create a culture of competitions.

It happens everywhere, not just pop, how many times did you see people acting hateful in sports? Ill keep you posted on the next Barca VS Real Madrid match

Agreed. Little Managers being Little Immaturesters.

Be Grateful. instead of acting Entitled.

And for the record, No, I cannot imagine being in her shoes... It must be totally nuts.

I feel like a lot of the Monsters need to get over themselves. And just appreciate and be grateful for what Gaga *IS* now. Where she is NOW. In her transformation. If you are holding onto the past and are not able to respect Gaga for her transformation, then you don't really love her unconditionally. And I think that's the point, she's trying to get us to love her for who she is.... unconditionally. So that she can actually be herself, instead of being controlled and manipulated by everyone and everything around her.

And to answer part of the OP, when Gaga promises you a full hand and gives u a half fingernail at best, then you should expect some fans complaining cause they're disappointed / dissatisfied. And yes I'm talking bout the ARTPOP era.

Is there websites dedicated to hating Real Madrid that update on a daily basis and do they try and smear all of their players regularly? Do they attack the players looks and personal lives and compare ticket sales of Real Madrid games to Barca games? If a player on Real Madrid decided to retire and spend time with their family instead, would their be a public outcry and would fans bash them personally for years on end?

I understand rivalries are a thing, but the obsession and level that I've been witnessing is absolutely absurd.

Yes for all.

I don't get it either. I feel like around Roman Reloaded Nicki was probably the most hated celebrity. But now it's all gone.

Yet the hate for Gaga never seems to stop.

People like to talk big on the internet combined with boredom and/or being unhappy with life. That's all it is really. I used to think the whole stan war thing was hilarious because it was so outrageous, but then I realized some of these people are actually for real and not just playing around. I shade artists I don't care for on occasion, but I don't have the desire to create hate blogs or constantly stalk the internet looking for comment sections to express my distaste in - I don't even do the positive flip side version of that for someone I like. I don't have the time or energy.

yes to this! She is an artist and she should b respected for being one. There's a reason why she inspires millions and is on stage.

We(the fanbases) should all cut the crap and start respecting her and other true artists for what they give us
