depends on genre, how good it is, success of lead single, time of the year, promotion... but 150k seems the minimum for a pop release.

If you buy 2 copies it will count as 2 copies. But if someone makes a really big purchase it will only count as 1 copy sold. The info was once posted in some thread here, it was copied from the Billboard site I think.

If your order is over a certain (low amount) of copies it doesn't count towards the chart. Also it would be incredibly obvious if she bought a large number of her own album and Billboard would void those purchases, plus she would be forever dragged to the pits of hell.

 

She was getting dragged before for just buying a few copies to sign for fans, let alone buying her own on a larger scale.
