Congratulations, Gaga! No surprise here since they've also previously named her as the "Most Famous Celebrity on Earth" for their 2013 edition. It's a great recognition, and a recognition like this should always be welcomed within the fanbase supporting the recipient. It's a time to celebrate, not bicker whether she deserves it or not. Otherwise, as always, nitpicking over the most trivial things just comes off as a silly attempt to flame a stan war, which we strictly prohibit. And to think we're here in the biggest fan forum of Gaga, and not in some general pop forum, makes it more baffling.

I beleive you must however admit that while you can be a--lyzing this as critically as possible, you'll still always be a stan, and you just can't see things as something other than that. You can only guess, but at the end of the day the 'GP' see things in a certain way for whatever reason. And sometimes it doesn't make sense, and sometimes we're just lucky.

Point is one way or another this happened. A group of very influential people claim Gaga is the biggest popstar, even today, for whatever reason.

You can question it all you want but you can never really know how people will see things.

Not surprised at this. Looking at searches/impact alone, IMO Gaga's "lack of success" with ARTPOP comes down to her tech-savvy audience that might not have paid for content because they are more likely to illegally download (Katy fans - mostly younger who are bought the album by their parents; Beyonce had the spur-of-the-moment buys etc). She also would have had less success on tour because she had such a huge success on her last tour and most casual fans won't see two tours in a row by the same artist - it's only the hardcore fans.

 

Yet Gaga's antics, especially around the time of the release of ARTPOP:

- VOLANTIS with NASA

- Space trip

- Applause

- VMAs 

- DWUW Video Controversy

- GUY

- GMA

- Every Katy story at the time of Roar also spoke about Gaga

- App downloads

- Social media presence

- Ice bucket challenge (edit: this was after their collection of stats so this won't count)

You can be critical all you want, but with nice things like this (which are rare right now) that sort of attitude seems a bit tedious tbh. There's a way to be critical and not be a complete bore.

When will people realise that this whole index isn't about "The Most Well Liked Celebrity"? Like, literally open your eyes and read and actually take some time to a--lyse before spewing senseless words.

 

Whether people like Gaga or not isn't the point. She's always talked about, hence the social media presence and the Internet searches. The truth is, every single thing Gaga does gets half the world excited, and the other half PRESSED. 

 

People may not be buying her music / shows as much as in the past, but people are definitely still talking about her. Heck, even Instagram posts of her French bulldog pup gets headlines and gets people seething.

 

Y'all get pressed over Gaga getting snubbed at literally every award show but now that she finna wins something, y'all doubt the authenticity of it. Like, get outta here with that.
