For a while now there was was speculation that the European Central Bank would further cut rates and even start QE which has driven European yields lower

Europe did indeed cut rates and QE was announced for private sector purchasses. Government bonds may be included in QE Mario said if recovery continues to stagnate

This has led some European investors to seek yields in the US as more risky Countries in the EU dont pay much more at the moment anyway

As a result bond yields have not been rising the past 6-8 months even as the US reduces quantitative Easing and the economy improves! The US is enjoying low stable interest rates while simultaneously the economy recovers which typically does not happen at the same time

I'm not trying to be rude but can't we have a big thread with all the latest economic news?

You like to update very frequently and that would be better done in a big thread rather in smaller ones. :)

Humanitarian ECB :applause: saving countries, continents, banks, governments, individuals and nations from bankrupcy :applause:

but this will probably affect the dollar course, and cause for less export from the US, right?

All the things this user posts are related to the economy, but theyre all different aspects and areas of it and i think they each deserve their own thread tbh

it will devalue the Euro against the Dollar yes (and every other currency for that matter). So exports from the US to Europe will be less competitive

But as the US economy improves and inflationairy pressures will soon start to rise, but incomes are still stagnant and rake hikes might still not be wanted, a higher currency can help ofset that inflation. May actually be a good thing for now

Also the US is more domestic than most Countries. It produces more of its own stuff due to its high population and large metropolis...

exports only make up 10% of the US economy and they import a smaller percentage of their stuff than many Countries

The Currency exchange rate doesnt affect the US economy as much as it would affect most economies
