WHich Era did you become a fan?

Tail end of the Born This Way era. I think it was around the time of The Edge of Glory single. I heard a Judas remix I liked. Had no idea it was a Gaga song until I researched it because I wanted to hear the original. Fell in love with the album version, checked out the album, fell more in love. Checked out her other albums and videos, and am now slowly coming out of the closet as a Gaga fan.

I was going through a pop freeze out during most of the Fame/Fame Monster/ BTW eras. I would just catch bits and pieces then block her out. Most of my friends hate her. The people I knew as fans were fanatics but really rude. Basically this is the only place I can get my Gaga fix.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

"She can't sing."

"Lady Gaga is a stupid name."

That last one, I remember the first time I heard it I thought she was a rapper (like Lady May). Then I thought she was a drag queen (Lady Chablis). I thought for a long time she was a Brit. I have no idea why.

When she first came out with Just Dance, I thought "What is this? Some kind of Cascada rip off or something?  So bad."

For most of the Fame era, she was a guilty pleasure, even though I was really impressed by Paparazzi and LoveGame and fell in LOVE with Summerboy (still one of my favorites). Also during the Fame era, I thought she sounded a lot like Gwen (which she does on that album). I had a friend that was a big Gaga fan, and that kind of turned me from viewing her as a guilty pleasure to recognizing her talent.  Once Bad Romance came out, I was all in.

I thought she was black the first few times I heard Just Dance.

Other than that, no negativity.

I would love to hear the stories behind the people who went 180 degrees and started liking her lol

I used to say that Gaga would define pop music for the next 30 years, like Madonna. But Gaga threw away the recipe for success on her third album, continued the same route with the fourth, and C2C isn't doing anything for her long-term pop image :)

:kissga: Mine are BTW and AP, I can't choose one.

You shouldn't have to. :)

I think all her albums have something to offer, personally. And considering how passionate so many here are for each one, to me it shows that there are no real filler albums. And even if what some are saying is true that Gaga had planned something different for ARTPOP, the album as is still means something to so many fans. I love that!
