Hmm I think they are saying that Greece can't compete with every country on that list. Am I wrong?  :huh:

Competitivity is more like how smart it is to have your business in Greece, to invest in Greek companies, etc. Having no minimum income (or a very low one) and having very low taxes (something impossible for Greece atm) makes your country a more competitive economy.

competitveness has to do with ease of doing business... How attractive ur Country is for businesses... How well businesses can perform under current cirumstances in the Country etc

It doesnt always reflect perfectly how well ur actually doing

i dont know the details of what factors they looked at. It doesnt say

Also take into account most of these studies wont include every single Country on Earth. They dont have the time to look at every little land

Greece may merely be the least competitive of the more major Countries

I know Forbes Ranks my Country Canada the most Competitive in the world... But they made a list of only 50 Countries :shrug:

That Forbes ranking looks more accurate, but 144 countries is too much. I mean, there are like 200 in the world.  ;)

And because the US is extremely capitalist it's bound to be more attractive for business - that's the whole point of what the US government usually wants.

Hmm this is totally off-topic but... are tickets for seeing Gaga live on September 19th extremely expensive because of hard taxes?  :popcorn:

Well, people just couldn't give money for the show like 3 months before simple because they didn't have them or because they didn;t know if they will need them by then, and this is why most of the tickets are selling now, 2 weeks before the concert. They are selling well though, thank god.

Guys of course Greece is not competitive..

COMPETITIVE =/= BIG

Greece is the lowest because we pay like 30% taxes of income which goes up to 50% for big incomes.. Not to mention all the other taxes

the US has one of the highest business and Corporate taxes in the deoped World :awkney:

They arent as Capitalist as they used to be in many ways. And their current tax system speaks to that

Their competitiveness often relates to high population density making bulk transportation easy, educated workforce, cheap energy relative to other Countries etc :coffee:
