Economy 52,951
http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/canada/toronto/tim-hortons-burger-king-what-s-behind-the-potential-merger-1.2745754 Burger King Has said it is in talks to possibly buy Tim Hortons (Canadas largest coffee shop chain) The idea is to form one larger Corporation Group although both Branches would still operate seperately.Burger King Wants the new Corporation to be Canadian Based. Canadas Corporate taxes are significantly lower than US Corporate taxes so the move of Head Quarters could trim taxes Significantly and avoid high US Corporate taxes!!! At this point in time it is unknown if Tim Hortons is even interested in the possible merge. But this would give them a profit margin advantage over Mcdonalds! Neptune 156
As long as my precious Steakhouse stays at the same price, I'm good with everything they have to do.
craig 680
Sch a great turnabout, considering how often Canadians have been told over the years that we need to change out policies to compete with US. Now we might take over Burger King and it's tax revenue!
Economy 52,951
Sch a great turnabout, considering how often Canadians have been told over the years that we need to change out policies to compete with US. Now we might take over Burger King and it's tax revenue! Canada has become more business friendly since the conservatives took over in 2006 Ppl are always critisizing harper for lowering taxes to the rich. But it has its benefits, ifs not all for nothing Lower Government spending but lower taxes tend to be better for the economy than high taxes and high spending!!! Thays how Switzerland with few natural resources manages to rank #1 almost every year as the most competitive Country in the world for business! Woolfsmck 2,763
Yeah, it's not a done deal yet. They are still hashing out the details ... But the deal sounds like both co's will benefit... Lower over all taxs, and more place to sell stuff ..Tim Hortons in the US and BK in Canada. like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still. My words give a clue, look inside to see whats true
Economy 52,951
Yeah, it's not a done deal yet. They are still hashing out the details ... But the deal sounds like both co's will benefit... Lower over all taxs, and more place to sell stuff ..Tim Hortons in the US and BK in Canada.well the offer was accepted and many details hae already been finished. They just need to sort out small details and actually sign it And we have Burger Kings here already. I think Burger King wanted the help Tim Hortons could give with breakfast meals as well as snacks which Tim Hortons have been hugely successful in... And Burger King is interested in expanding in that sector of the industry and Tim Hortons can help As for Tim Hortons, they already pretty much took over Canada and they themselves admit there isnt much room left for expansion here... So they wanna expand in the US but they are having a hard time competing with Dunkin Donuts which is so big there... Burger King can help with the expansion in the US So besides taxes, there is in fact real strategies behind this deal that will benefit both companies!
Cody Draco 2,531
A ratchet place going with another ratchet place.... um.... that's just.... *sigh*.... Straight people.... You probably like Starbucks don't you? Primpy people... What the **** is your problem with straight people, are you seriously hating on straights right now? Yet you're gay and probably have an issue when straights treat you bad. You're a trainwreck. :koons:
Dayman 6,251
If it means more Tim Hortons here in the US I'm all for it. The few in the city that I see always smell so nice. Plus we need a change from nasty overpriced Starbucks.
Sabertooth 2
A ratchet place going with another ratchet place.... um.... that's just.... *sigh*.... Straight people.... Hey look! Its the ignorant American that always shows up on the internet, but with a twist. He's gay and trash talks straight people. My God, its hard to imagine such a creature. Anyway. Its a fair deal. Wendy's use to own Tim's in the past, so this isn't any different. Its kind of cool because I actually like BK more so than some other FF places.
