To those who didn't appreciate ARTPOP..

Have you lowered your expectations for the next album? 

 

 

 

After BTW I was so hyped for ARTPOP but now i think my expectations are more in check for the next album, and i won't excite myself until i actually hear the music.

I wasn't overhyped, I was just disappointed by the music and the so-called 'themes' of the album. I'm not lowering my expectations because there were some fantastic songs on the album, so clearly Gaga has the potential to make music I love.

Me too. I had a very different image of ARTPOP in my mind before it dropped. But to be honest BTW was hyped as the ultimate pop album that blew everything she did prior out of the water and to me it did not do that. So its been 2 disappointments in a row. Now i hoped to be pleasantly surprised by her next album

I did have high expectations for ARTPOP because of Swinefest and all the art that was supposed to be created and the app    but I eventually came to appreciate ARTPOP as a really personal album and just an album to let loose and not care, you know. I was mad about Born This Way because Gaga hyped it so much and I expected a lot from it but I didn't really appreciate it until two years later until 2013 after I was so thirsty for ARTPOP that I just relistened to all her other albums till the release.

BTW was huge letdown to me apart from few songs so my expectations were already lowered for ARTPOP. Now they are set even lower tbh. I hope she will surprise me!

I was only disappointed with ARTPOP because it felt like she didn't stay true to her convictions. "We can put art in the front - and pop and fame and the media- can take a back seat" Pop artists like Katy start selling faster, Miley, Katy, Beyonce steal the spotlight, radio stops spinning G.U.Y and suddenly ARTPOP is over.

Like really? What happened to a video for every song? What happened to F*CK YOU POP MUSIC THIS IS ARTPOP!!!??

I wish she kept making these epic videos like G.U.Y, I wish that she decided to make the Aura video with Jonas Akerlund. Let's not act like she doesn't have the money or the resources. I'm sure Donatella could lend her some Versace for a particular song... Telephone was basically paid for in endorsement deals - which did fit the theme and feel of the video, She is releasing a perfume and a Jazz album while on a successful world tour. She could at least do a video like Cake for Sexxx Dreams.

 

She keeps talking about how ARTPOP will be remembered and appreciated in the future, but there isn't a lot to appreciate right now.

 

Some more collaborations with artists would be very nice too, or at least some side art projects of her own. The ARTPOP gallery she was going to set up in Australia sounded incredible.
