AbuHassan1992 766
it was an accident, that's all. It shouldn't be in the news and it shouldn't go to court. Are you kidding me

craig 680
If people were fully aware of the danger, they'd put their scalding hot drinks on the floor instead of on a tippy table above their exposed flesh.

Uhhh. That's exactly how a piece of glass pierced through my left foot. I stepped on a drink on the floor. Let's just put them on steady tables and not be morons with hot water
Bear 7,515
It's just an accident, it's not really anyone's fault :toofloppy: And how did this become an article? Did she go looking for some $$$?

Enjoy your burns and tiny jury awards That's because Canadians aren't as dumb as Americans and don't allow people to sue for every stupid little thing. This was clearly not Tim Horton's fault and it would be ridiculous if she sued. Some of the things I hear that people sued about in the US are just... And here in Canada she doesn't worry about having to go into debt to treat her burns. So yeah.

Dayman 6,252
Sucks for her but its not Tim Horton's fault She will never win this case. She should blame her boyfriend. If they served the tea that hot than it's their fault. Tea or coffee should not be served at a temperature that will cause 2nd degree burns if it comes in contact with the skin. There is already a precedent set by the US case with McDonalds. Cases like this sound frivolous, but once you see the kind of damge that is done it really is a serious matter. Pictures from the infamous McDonalds coffee case for reference in case anybody hasn't seen them. These burns are 2nd degree as well. somechick 1
I'm sure he didn't but imo its not Tim Horton's fault. The damage was already done. It takes like 10 seconds if not less to get those burns. Like many people said in the comments of the article, water only relieves some of the pain. She can go to court all she wants but all she's gonna do is spend her money and get nothing back. lol I never said she'd win the case.... was more just putting it out there as a thought. And wasn't part of her case" pain and suffering"? I just thought like maybe they will try to use the fact that she couldn't use the bathroom....
