Is there anything iconic/memorable about the ARTPOP era?

Memorable for fans? Yes, definitely. Applause video and performances, DWUW performances, Swinefest, GUY video.

Iconic? Maybe the 'Venus' seashell girl outfit, and the Applause look.

The GP :lmao:

Jeff Koons, the most famous pop artist in the world, recently broke the record for having the most expensive work by a living artist sold at auction. He created a sculpture of one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Gaga in turn has referenced Koons in Applause, and has featured Koon's gazing balls in her performances and outfits. Trust me, his work with Lady Gaga is going to be remembered.

Marina Abramovic is also an extremely influential artist and her work with Lady Gaga is quite notable. Aside from that, if somebody wants to see Lady Gaga with no wigs or makeup what do you think they are going to see?

People made fun of Madonna for erotica and her s-x book. They said her career was over and that she had completely made a fool of herself. But in the end it was quite a notable moment of her career wasn't it? So is Lady Gaga naked in the woods meditating with Marina Abramovic.

Don't start thinking that her iconic moments are what blew up on the Billboard 100... That's extremely basic when we are talking about era where Gaga had a project of hers featured in the Louvre....

If Gaga is determined about being taken more seriously as an artist in the "art" world, it is these incredible moments with these very influential artists that have set the foundation for it.

Jeff Koons is famous...but not every single work of is. You can buy one of his masterpieces online... 1stdibs.com  One of his balloon dogs...

Madonna's Book was publicized, talked about. Gaga's brief foray into crazyland was briefly lampooned by those who saw her screaming and then posing with crystals.

No,...if anything Gagas work with these artists have made people doubt the artists themselves because Gaga is fickle. Many people have blasted Robert Wilson over working with her (not really sure why...it was a pretty interesting project) but the art world will take her seriously...just like Daphne Guiness started to after she bought her wardrobe. Before that Daph was blasé about Gaga. Gaga bought her way into art with teh statue...  (But so did Michael jackson really....) IDK I just dont think anyone but us cares about this. Fru Fru art people certainly wont give a damn.

No, not every work of Jeff Koons is famous - or expensive. A lot of his work can be mass produced. That isn't the case for his Gaga statue. When you type "Koons" into Google, Applause lyrics and the ARTPOP cover featuring his sculpture are among the first results. It's certainly a notable collaboration.

Lady Gaga practicing the Abramovic method is also another notable event in the career of both Gaga and Marina. It was also discussed and buzzed about in art circles.

Her collaboration with Robert WIlson received mixed reviews but it was featured in The Louvre which is a big deal. Certainly for Gaga. That's a notable achievement in her career.

Nathan Sawaya created custom pieces for her G.U.Y video too. It seems to me like Gaga is going to keep pushing forward into the art world and eventually I think she is going to be accepted. I mean, Koons is kitsch and gaudy right? Warhol's work is junk.

Critics can say what they want, and they may even be right, but when the history books examine art in this era it is Koons, Wilson, Marina and co who are going to come up. When people are looking at these artists, it is Gaga's name that is going to pop up at some point.

Gaga has had a lot of career highlights with this era, don't be deceived by her chart presence. There is a pop star in The Louvre and she is coming for blood.

The Seashell Girl outfit is definitely iconic imo, and (in my country at least), Do What U Want as a song is huge. I'm in the UK and I think it could have gone much higher than #9 on the charts if it hadn't been disqualified for so long. I always hear it on nights out and I have friends who don't listen to pop who know the chorus.

There are definitely memorable moments for fans, but nothing that's truly iconic for the general public

I agree with this
