yeah.

The decay and fall of Lady Gaga was probably the most famously reported thing that happened this era. Everyone talked about it. Iconic tbh :emma:

Right? Poor girl couldn't catch a break. :awkney:

The word "flop" pretty much became her mark of disgrace. :toofunny:

The massive floppage

It will be remembered as her underperforming era

I remember when everyone thought that about the BTW era.....

There are definitely memorable moments for fans, but nothing that's truly iconic for the general public

Agreed.

Everything seen in this era was shelved so fast, it's hard to define anything as iconic. I'll just say the large brunette Venus wig is the most memorable since she has been wearing it from the beginning of the era to now on tour. 10 years from now if you were to ask me what the first thing pops into my head when thinking about the ARTPOP era, it would be the wig, or the Applause makeup I guess.

Yall don't even know what iconic means :smh:

The only thing iconic was how hard she failed

No, I'm pretty sure the Applause single cover and the seashell bikini can be easily recognized as Gaga.

Besides, ARTPOP's underperformance is "iconic"~ only from a stan's point of view.

Nobody in the real world gives a **** that ARTPOP didn't go platinum or "didn't have enough promo."

Her work with Marina Abramovic is going to be discussed for a long time.

SXSW because of the whole taking off the wig and debut of ARTPOP.

Applause VMA performance is something that will be hyped by MTV for a long time to come.

The cover/sculpture with Jeff Koons.

Iconic for her fans? A lot. Iconic in a wider sense like Paparazzi VMA, the meat dress, etc? No.

The the public literally none of this stuff matters at all except maybe the damn puking at SXSW. Nobody is gona remember that statue that we have barely even seen. And the Marina thing...come on. Lots of people made fun of her for that

The Robert Wilson portraits are pretty iconic - those are the things future generations are going to uncover and think, wow, that woman really was multi-talented.

To be honest, C2C might be VERY iconic, because the whole world is going to hear Gaga's raw talent.

Many reporters are art critics ridiculed wilson for working with her, nobody really care about that... how many fans have even talked about it? Not that many because it was high brow pretense.... TBH it was prob one of my favorite things, the head of john the baptist and death of murat are two of my fav paintings... but the public...meh. Its not iconic to anyone but perhaps a few of us.

The GP :lmao:

Jeff Koons, the most famous pop artist in the world, recently broke the record for having the most expensive work by a living artist sold at auction. He created a sculpture of one of the biggest pop stars in the world. Gaga in turn has referenced Koons in Applause, and has featured Koon's gazing balls in her performances and outfits. Trust me, his work with Lady Gaga is going to be remembered.

Marina Abramovic is also an extremely influential artist and her work with Lady Gaga is quite notable. Aside from that, if somebody wants to see Lady Gaga with no wigs or makeup what do you think they are going to see?

People made fun of Madonna for erotica and her s-x book. They said her career was over and that she had completely made a fool of herself. But in the end it was quite a notable moment of her career wasn't it? So is Lady Gaga naked in the woods meditating with Marina Abramovic.

Don't start thinking that her iconic moments are what blew up on the Billboard 100... That's extremely basic when we are talking about era where Gaga had a project of hers featured in the Louvre....

If Gaga is determined about being taken more seriously as an artist in the "art" world, it is these incredible moments with these very influential artists that have set the foundation for it.
