gagaisitalian 3,573
I think there have been iconic things, but no one will remember them because nothing is really "iconic" for Gaga anymore, it's just all Gaga. The Swine vomit...I rarely think about because it was just another thing that Gaga has done. She's done crazier things, and she has done less crazy things. Volantis...well....will that ever actually happen? And all the performances weren't that memorable. I feel like the Applause VMA performance was years ago but really it was just last year this time. PopBitch 1,218
well the applause cover is pretty iconic :)you will find 1000000 examples imitating Gaga and I think many people recognize itI love the cover, but I think most people think of, when they saw it, David Bowie's iconic Scary Monsters and Ashes to Ashes covers and was commented on by many sites and publications, the influence of Bowie. It's what I noticed first off, but it's not a copycat but definitely was influenced by. It's one of my favorite things Gaga has done visually, and I actually hated how she dropped it so quickly after the Applause promo. I loved almost everything about the Applause promo, the cover, the look of the music video. Personally, I would have loved for her to have gone that way but even delved deeper, so avant-garde in looks, for promo of other songs on the album, instead of the seashell queen later on.http://flavorwire.com/407489/the-cover-of-lady-gagas-new-single-applause-looks-a-whole-lot-like-david-bowies-scary-monsters"The cover photo is the work of Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, who did Gaga’s recent nude V Magazine shoot and who helmed the “Applause†video, which was shot last week in L.A. If you think the image resembles David Bowie‘s “Ashes To Ashes†and Scary Monsters covers, we’re guessing that was intentional. Bowie is a huge inspiration for Mother Monster, and this isn’t her first time referencing his makeup: when she first emerged in the “Just Dance†era, the singer often had a lightning bolt painted on her face, which was a callback to Bowie’s Aladdin Sane cover." PopBitch 1,218
i found her snl show quite iconic, but no one seems to mention it :toofloppy:DWYW was the single-most cringe-worthy performance Gaga has ever done, not like the world class performer she is. It was a mess. If she and R. Kelly had gone out there and sung their asses off, they would have blown everybody away. Instead, she went out there with that mess of a "choreography" and looked like someone who hadn't even made it yet in the business.iTunes FestThe day ARTPOP and the single was announcediTunes Fest was glorious, and she showed why she's one of the biggest musical stars out there today, not just in the pop realm. It was captivating, and what a return to the stage.
