Hexxx 2,244
It's okay to be a fan and not like every single thing. I miss greatly miss the crazy outfits and her anthemic choruses. But like they said, people change. I Just Hope I'll like her next era better. PMKKARDASHiAN 8,570
That may be why you are here, but other fans have different reasons for being here. I follow Gaga for multiple reasons, ones that extend far beyond the simple world of pop music. Pop music will never be low brow. I too miss the old gaga. That's why I got so into her. She was fierce, and wild and fearless and all these things I wanted to be. She represented a kind if artistic intellect and a striking mind and wit while being able to captivate me in lyrically, sonically, delicious music. I kind of saw the return of that gaga when DWUW started to come around, but to me it never came out in full. I don't dislike gaga. I love her very much so still. She's been my go to for 6 years now, and I'll always support her, that doesn't mean I'll blindly follow or like her work, which I haven't since TFM. But I'm not jumping ship over it. I hate when some fans say "well go stan for Katy or Britney or whoever". Why? I stan for gaga I just don't like what her music has become, and I prefer her persona from 5 years ago over her now. So I'll still stan, and just hope I like her next ablum.
Schwerk 7,246
I know all the die hard fans may drag this thread but I agree. I mean many of You treat her little to personally - she is just an entertainer. The main reason why we are all here is her crazy imaginery. I am fan of Lady Gaga who I've known and who has changed my life to some extend. If she wants to take opposite direction - fine, but I don't feel moral need to support it. She is a popstar and pop music scene has given her fame, respect and money. I cannot understand why once she sais "i love pop music' and other time she sais '**** you pop music this is ARTPOP". Breaking pop music boundaries is not about trying all the possible genres of music to prove that she is outside of the box. During TF and TFM era she used to deliver artistic excellence, mix of subgenres and crazy ideas still remaining in the pop music area. Now it is not like it because she kinda leaves pop so how she can change it. I fell for her voice and her intellect first to be honest. I still am in awe when I see her on stage or exit a hotel in a spectacular outfit, even when I know the adorable cheeky and down to earth girl that's 'underneath'. When I talk to her it's so normal and then I see her on the Oscar red carpet for example, and it's hard to imagine that's the same girl. I love the contradiction. She is both but she wasn't comfortable enough before to show her true self. As long as she's comfortable, she can present herself how she wants. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

She represented a kind if artistic intellect and a striking mind and wit while being able to captivate me in lyrically, sonically, delicious music. See...I think this describes Gaga perfectly now. But over the course of her career, she has continued to open herself up to her fans, like no other current artist has managed to do. It's the perfect combination and she's someone I can completely relate to. I don't need someone to live FOR ME...to represent "what I want to be". I go out and live my own life, the way I want to live it! Many fans make the mistake of finding their self-worth in some artist that they will never personally know. Gaga is an artist that I can relate to and that I respect, in too many ways to get into at this time. :)

June 627
One of the things that I love since the beginning of her career was that I got blown away every time that I saw Lady Gaga. The first time that I heard Just Dance it was fantastic, not only because I liked the song but because of Gaga, who was she? why did she wear all this strange outfits. But I didn't become a fan of her until that day: Lady Gaga captivated me, I went crazy with this character that she made up. For me Lady Gaga is not real, she wasn't from this planet or human. She was on day in a tv show and the day after She was singing on another different country. She was magic and mysterious. Nobody knew what she did when there wasn't anybody looking, and she didn't want you to knew it. And now I feel that she doesn't like anymore this fantasy, that she is exhausted to be this super star. It started 2 years ago and now it feels more real than never that she is dropping the Lady Gaga persona. For me she can do whatever she wants, the only thing that I hope is that if she stop acting like Lady Gaga she also drops the name. For me if she kill Lady Gaga character but continuous to be called like that I would feel that she is not only betraying Lady Gaga but also everyone that love her mystery. I´m mean now she is acting more normal that any time before, she tell us what´s up with Taylor, she shares all this photos of Asia with us, we have photos of his home and more and more and I find it so different and strange, even more when you compare it with the past years, just look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE4L7SI-SwA At this point I´m getting really emotional omg i've never seen that interview before. I can tell you this though: it's obvious to me that she is trying to hide and assumes that the interviewer is trying to destroy her image by painting her in a certain light. She's said before that she thought in the past media would try to destroy her so she would try to hide herself as much as possible. Now that she's been evolving she realizes that it doesn't matter anymore what the media thinks. It's what the music tells us and what the fans think. That's how I look at it at least. You're right, I never really cared for "pop" music but I became fascinated with Gaga because of her voice and the artist she is. So, she can do whatever music she wants to, I will listen. AmenTheNight 1,084
Things changed around the release of Yoü&I. Most of her team from TF/TFM had left her by then. She never managed to make an event out of herself on her own since then. That's where I consider the "Gaga" character died.

Hewkah 48
Things changed around the release of Yoü&I. Most of her team from TF/TFM had left her by then. She never managed to make an event out of herself on her own since then. That's where I consider the "Gaga" character died. This, so much. Since her old team have left her, we no longer have the mysterious "Lady Gaga" out and about, and nor do we have the same performances - imagery - everything. I really miss the "Gaga" character a lot. The persona of "Gaga" is who I truly fell in love with, even though I know it's Stef who plays her. She's just not who she once was. I, for one, am grateful I can look back on past performances, and as she says in that specific interview: "marinate" in the vision that once was. Jester 6,307
I totally understand you, I think she lost it during the BTW era and BTWBall, but it's not necessarily a bad thing... It's not a bad thing at all. I did fall in love with her mystery too and I kinda miss it, but on the other hand I really like the fact that now I know her better than ever... She still manages to make me think and say What is she doing?! from time to time tho PS: I really believe her when she says her fans have changed her... She just had to be real with us and close to us when the original Lady Gaga was somehow cold and distant from everyone.
