Who jumps in the middle of season? And with the way this season ratings have been going, the show has been losing viewers not gaining them.

The point I'm trying to make is that unless you understand the series, this season would be hard to follow because of the way it bounces around.

But shouldn't you understand the series to watch this season in the first place? Which would require watching it from at least season 2 or 3. I don't understand Games of Thrones because I don't watch it. But if I wanted to understand it, I wouldn't start from the current season or last season, I'd start from the beginning. Otherwise how could it make sense?

I'm sorry I don't get that, they missed the best seasons. I understand maybe jumping in at anytime for a reality show or a sitcom, because the story/plot isn't as important. But starting a scripted drama with a prominent plot and strong/established characters in its 6th season, don't make sense to me.

Why not just catch up at your own pace or wait until the series end?

She even asked who Negan killed before watching the first episode of season 7 :ladyhaha:

You can't tell people what they can watch or not. Not everybody is interested in watching the entire series.

I know I'm just saying from a logical perspective, It's not very smart nor valid.

And you guys were talking about how this season would be confusing for new viewers. But that's really only their own fault, because it's commonplace for the show to jump around and those viewers would be starting show when it's not too far from having its 100 episode.

You mentioned Game of Thrones earlier. I started watching season three and then I decided I liked it. That's when I went back to season 1 and watched it all the way through. People need to grasp the concept of the series regardless of where they start. You can always start from season one but until you know you want to watch it you won't be encouraged to look at the entire series. Some people haven't watched any of it until this season. This season would turn people away because of the jumping around it does from one location to another.

I don't think that's the writers fault though. Yes they want new fans/viewers, but it shouldn't be prioritized to point where they have to alter the way they want to tell the story or plan to tell the story.

If someone wants to come in at a random point in the show and expect to know what's going and be fully entertained, that's more on them, not the show-runners.

This isn't about fault. It's they way they decided to progress with the series. As a current follower of the series I think it generates more interest for me. If I was someone new to the show, I would say it would reduce their interest to watch it if they started anywhere in this season.

If this is isn't about fault, there's no real point to the discussion we're having. And we could keep going saying the same thing in different iterations.

To point is, the writers write the show how they want and how they know established fans can handle/appreciate the story. Not how they think new fans and viewers will like the show. So if someone comes in this season and is confused and it reduces their likelihood to watch the show, Oh well sorry. Should have maybe watched the show earlier on. The people behind the show, shouldn't change anything.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan on Howard Stern about the next two episodes : "The next two, I'm really big in," Jeffrey said. "I'm ****ing heavy in those." as Negan.

I am happy for this~

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

I've got a feeling they're going to play into the speculation that Chandler Riggs is leaving the show for the mid-season finale and close out the episode with something relating to Carl and Negan

There's speculation he's leaving? I thought there was more speculation Norman was leaving.

Maybe Riggs is leaving due to his acceptance into college?

Honestly, I think the series may have one good season left after this one.  A good thing can't be a good thing forever no matter how much AMC wants it to be.  I like a favorite show to have a strong finish; not to sadly watch the wheels teeter off.

The negan story arc is apparently really crazy and chaotic in the comics and if the show stays true to that, which it seems like it will, it'll revitalize the series. It's already been renewed for season 8 and the show runners have had ideas and templates for all the way to a 12th season, for a few years now. Because of all the content from the comics.

I want the show to at least run for 10 seasons. I think that's a nice and even number to end on.

There are so many moving pieces in this show now.  Michonne is doing her own thing, crazy psycho Negan is rocking Judith on a porch with Carl, Morgan and Carol are elsewhere, Daryl is alone, Rick and Aaron are up to something dangerous, Maggie and Sasha are doing monster trucks, Spencer, Eugene and Rosita are griping with each other, Tara and Heath are still in God knows where, and Jesus was in a truck, then off a truck, then on a truck.  :toofunny:

They are doing a good job showing how Negan instills fear in his people and is inspired by the suffering of others.  I almost feel their shame and embarrassment when they have to bow down.

They have been evident in showing the awkwardness between Negan and Dwight.  Surely that will come into play later.

Still waiting on that Daryl, Jesus, Morgan, Ezekiel episode.  :nails:  I'll be waiting a while   :nails:
