StrawberryBlond 14,120
While majority of what you wrote is very plausible and you have every right to feel that way, when and where did Beyoncé ever say she created the word "bootylicious?" Where did she ever say she was the leader and creator of surprise releases? Did Snoop ever feel any malice towards Beyoncé because of it? He was much bigger than her (and very vocal) at the time of the release of Bootylicious and could have easily said he coined the term. Regarding "surprise releases"... Those have been happening for decades, like you have said. But you're making it seem like she herself personally said she originated these things, when she's never said that at all. The reason people made such a huge deal about BEYONCÉ was because she prolonged the album process for so long and they were expecting a typical single here and album a month or so later; so the 12/13 Friday release came as a surprise because they didn't think something like that would happen. They didn't think one of the biggest modern performers of our time would drop a record without having said a word, so it came as a surprise. The only person claiming these things are you, Strawberry, not Bey herself. **Also, the term Bootylicious was not first coined by Snoop. It was used by a character in classic black sitcom A Different World. If you read interviews and articles about Latavia, Latoya and Farrah, you would actually see that they've had more harsh criticism towards Matthew Knowles and none towards Beyoncé. Recent interviews would show that they have no hard feelings towards her now, although they would admit that it was very awkward and off-setting that they were suddenly shut out of the group because of Matthew. Also, why would she want to 'keep up appearances' with Kelly and Michelle? If she wanted nothing to do with them, she would just simply stay away from them? She wouldn't have appeared in Michelle's Say Yes song/video nor would she have appeared in Kelly's song You've Changed. Saying she'd want to keep up with appearances would make me think Matthew himself thought of this, when they both, in fact, barely talk anymore after her parent's divorce. Not writing this post in any disrespect for you, but I just find it off-putting that you're always involved in Beyonce discussion even when it's being done in a positive light. I respect your opinion and have seen your posts in other threads not related to her, and you're very well spoken and intelligent. I was referring to her fans and the public in general who claim these things, not her. Part of my frustration about Beyonce comes from a large number of her fans who regard her as an untouchable goddess who has never done anything less than perfect. And this is exactly the image that Beyonce wants you to have of her. Her whole image is that of absolute perfection and after hearing Bow Down/I Been On, I am left in no doubt that she wants everyone to view her as a queen, that she believes she's that good. True, ex-DC members were driven out by Matthew and Beyonce was under his control too, but in a way, that makes things worse. Surely having your dad as your manager must mean it's possible to manipulate him if you don't like his way of managing? If she really thought they should all sing equal amounts of a song, get equal wages and overall equal representation, couldn't she have brought that up with him? Threaten to leave the band or threaten to expose his unfair managing to the media unless he gave in to these demands? That's what I'd do, if these girls were really my friends. But Beyonce seemed all too happy to be the lead singer with a bunch of glorified back up singers and even having one of them be temporarily replaced if someone was ill. She even said "all of the bad seeds are now out of Destiny's Child" when they became a trio. Then she got one taste of solo fame and dropped her band like a hot potato. Now, this is pure speculation, but it sounds plausible, given the evidence: DC was constructed purely to make Beyonce famous and sought after, so that once she inevitably went solo, her fan following would be huge. Considering how all the members came and went but she remained and how she was exalted above the others at every opportunity certainly points to that. Yes, Beyonce, Kelly and Michelle have been reuniting at various points for over a year now, but this really doesn't mean anything. I think it's a business arrangement, nothing more. The DC fans want to see them back together and if they never speak, rumours will spread that they hate each other and/or Beyonce won't associate herself with them because she's far more famous. To resolve these things, occasional reunions happen, but it doesn't mean anything further than that. We find out all the time that bands actually had fraught relationships for years befiore they split. I suspected for a long time that the rest of ***cat Dolls disliked Nicole for taking the lead and eventually going solo, but was always told it was all in my head and that they still supported each other. It only took about a year for the girls to start speaking up, one by one, about the true nature of things, with Carmit being the most descriptive and unforgiving. And it wasn't just before they split that things got tough, it was tough right from the beginning. It's the same with a lot of manufactured bands, especially when it's girls. They're ordered to act like the best of friends no matter what and get on with it. I'm not saying this is for sure what happened with DC, but I really wouldn't put it past them. It's good to know that you don't hate me anyway. I just wish you wouldn't point out how often I bring up Beyonce as I'm perfectly free to do so. And I certainly don't keep tabs on negative things other people are saying about my faves.

SharGaga 2,906
I doubt the GP doesn't even care who is writing these songs. Its the final product that matters. And her album 'Beyonce' was a piece of art and I liked how she explored darker themes
