I'm very interested in pharmaceutic-medical business in general, there a lot of things that media don't say about that because there a lot of money around it, the biggest business nowadays, I think that a lot of diseases coming properly from some kind of medicines and we live in world that also for stupid things we take immediately medication d--gs without know what they're for real thinking that only because you take it in  a Pharmacy is good, I know several people who ruined their life because of medicines, and I'm not talking about 'addiction' or things like that.

Doctors prescribe too much things without a serious motivation, and why? Money...

Absolutely not, there are too much money around, and big pharmaceutic companies need that people stay sick for their business. 

It's a really complicated issue to discuss and maybe I'm not the right person... But people need to be careful on what they take and like in this case a medicine so strong for your organism it could be very dangerous, it's like saying that healthy people need to do chemotherapy to 'prevent' cancer

I think it's a fantastic idea however it's not meant to be taken your entire life like a vitamin, they recommend stopping it once you're in a monogamous committed relationship. Also it costs a ****ton depending on insurance coverage and rebates and vouchers so they'd need to drastically reduce the cost for low income areas first

 

Those of you who voted NO really need to read into this, this is a huge advancement in medicine and there's absolutely no reason why one shouldn't besides the cost

honestly no we should be insulted. my friend once told me about a medicine to help with sickle cell anemia was being targeted towards black men. in reality, this should be targeted to all people instead of just "this is a gay thing, we need to market towards them" there are so many straight that dont use condoms and yet its just my personalized disease that i have to worry about because i happen to be gay? i dont ****in think so.

The report was released with the main subject of homos-xually transmitted HIV still not diminishing even though there are plenty of HIV campaigns around the world. That's why this report was made I don't understand why anyone pretends this is supposed to target homos-xuals as a separate group. I'm sure this organisation has a lot more to say about non-homos-xuals and HIV.

Also you have to be negative before starting it, though the medicine is almost the same as the one HIV+ people take to become undetectable.

 

The first month, I've heard from people who use it, is also quite taxing on your body and causes a temporary loss of bone density. They kind of assign the importance of you taking it by evaluating several risk categories, like a black male bottom in an urban area would be considered one of the highest risk categories

 

Generally speaking, most positive individuals are bottoms because it's very difficult for a circumcised top to contract the virus unless there's a lot of blood or a small cut...so just your preference is a risk category. I'm very well read on the subject because my roommate is about to begin taking it and it's all I've read about for months

These always sound "good" but it's exactly the same as the over use of antibiotics, the virus will adapt and grow so that the medication becomes useless and we are back to square one.

 

We need to find a cure that directly kills the virus instead of offering a meantime prevention although it'll be incredibly hard to completely stop the virus due to it being so widespread and the chances of new strains emerging as we battle it is also likely.

 

To summarise, we should be more focussed on educating everyone on how important it is to use protection.

 

Also, telling all gay men to take the medication diminishes the image of HIV that the threat of it is applicable to everyone, it's present among straight people, if not more if you take into account the entire world's population and not just first world.
