What do you think of Gaga using pre-made instrumentals?

Applause wasn't "premade". Gaga and DJWS spent a very long time producing this track together. Gaga mentioned this early in the era.

And it shows. The best songs on the album are all ones that weren't pre-made (Applause, Sex Dreams, Gypsy, DWUW, Dope)

Best choice, and it voices my opinion on it spot on. It's not my favorite method, and I'd prefer her developing instrumentals around base skeleton melodies, but some good has come out of it. MJH is pretty great, and Aura is okay. I don't like Donatella.

Sorry if I wasn't clear. What I mean is Gaga's often said in the past that she likes to sit down at a piano, come up with a tune and the melody, and then craft the electronic production around that. She did it with Born This Way, The Edge of Glory and many others. But as we've found out with many ARTPOP songs, she didn't do this process. She took entire instrumentals from producers and then sang over them, creating melodies to fit the production. 

Some people notice a difference between these processes, some people don't.

But she didn't say that with this album. Gaga specifically said she went through the DJs music and selected the sounds that she wanted to use on her album. She didn't claim that she sat down at the piano and wrote all the songs for ARTPOP. Gaga used a different approach with some of the songs for this album. She never claimed otherwise.

It's terrible. It's lazy. It's cheap.

I mean it took two years for us to get ARTPOP and it was a pretty sh*tty album. But now finding out she didn't even make half the stuff her self is like rubbing salt in the wounds :MANiCURE:

It's lazy, she's capable of more, but she delivered with Aura, MJH and the others so maybe it wasn't much of a problem but I would like her to continue doing her own music instead of picking what she likes and singing over it then claim she worked 2 years to accomplish that

This tbh and no shade intended. She is a mastermind in the pop game. Each pre made melody became a smash but it's just not as authentic. Look at Venus. One of the standouts on the album and she produced it.... Xoxo love u gagz
