Stefani328 321
Sorry, but from day one I've found it ridiculous that this woman is making EDM. She has too good of a voice and talent to do this s*it, just sing over old tracks etc. I think she seems so off and even she herself is not THAT much into EDM. MY opinion. She really is a jazz, rock'n'roll and just pure pop girl. MY opinion. I'm really looking forward to C2C because I want to hear Gaga' s voice. At times her electronic sound overshadows her voice. It didn't so much with her first two albums. BTW and ARTPOP are VERY loud. I love both albums but sometimes I feel like she's wasting talent on EDM and electro pop. MJH, Donatella are my least favorite songs on the album so my feelings aren't hurt like some.
RBNLM 1,640
*This whole situation just makes Gaga look like a big hypocrite, I'm sorry. From Zedd in 2013 I was talking about the amount of MY tracks/ productions on ARTPOP. We worked on a lot of songs and I don’t know which of our collaborations are making the album; she is in creative control of that decision. I never said ARTPOP is “rough†of “far away from being finishedâ€! I was speaking about my own material with her and how we have to finish that up. I’m a perfectionist and to me everything that’s not perfect yet is “roughâ€, and that’s also why it’s going to be so good! "I've done a lot of stuff that's really outside of what I usually do. There was one song that started from her just giving me, like, 10 words to describe an emotion, and then I had to make this into music. It's been a very experimental way of approaching music." Read more" Zedd first met his Interscope labelmate at a London event in 2011, after label chief Jimmy Iovine suggested they link up. “We had, like, one minute to talk, and it was onstage while everyone was taking pictures and being really loud. She just said, ‘Let’s make music.’†Zedd promptly returned to his studio and put together a track that he thought she might like. “My manager played it for her,†he recalls, “and she immediately called Jimmy and said, ‘I want this guy to produce my album.’†

Computer 10,973
Two thoughts as I am reading through all these pages with The Good Natured slaying my ears for the first time. 1. Guys, Lady Gaga isn't lazy... she completely produced Venus and that is the track she fought for every step of the way. She's let us know her time and health were mismanaged, so give her a break and appreciate what she did do. 2. Hate to say it, this is a million times better and more thrilling than MJH which is annoying imo. holy scheisse 21,755
isnt it CURIOUS that shes never performed MJH nor Donatella in full live. And before ARTPOP dropped, they were the only ones(fashion too?) we never heard... maybe she dislikes them cause theyre not originally hers tbh Edited June 26, 2014 by holyscheisse
Stefani328 321
I agree. tbh, none of the EDM tracks on ARTPOP are in my top 5. Agree. I don't really listen to MJH, Donatella, and Swine th at much for a reason. I felt this way in November and I still feel this way. Aura is one that love :)

Gov Hooka 8,008
In this case it has nothing to do with being ungrateful. Yes, there's a certain benchmark in the industry about how a lot of EDM gets produced. "Everyone does it". But Gaga always made a clear point that she works hard and writes her own stuff. Hard work. Believing in your own creative abilities. No shortcuts. It's only logical that she hires producers, as she doesn't yet have the technical insights that they have been trained for all their life. But she knows music. She writes melodies, plays instruments and has a strong vision. She has everything she needs to collaborate with her producers to create strong, original pieces that were born from her artistic mind. That's why producers are there as producers, not as songwriters. It's her name on the album cover. The irony of it all is that she didn't allow Cher to use The Greatest Thing. Cher loved it. But Gaga felt like she needed to "sit down with Cher" so that they could produce an original piece that "was a better fit to where Cher was in her life". But if you look at Aura and what Infected Mushroom thought about it, you can see that she doesn't really care for that stuff when it's the other way around. Cher made it clear that she wanted to use The Greatest Thing. But Gaga insisted that Cher deserved something more authentic. Yet when Infected Mushroom say they don't support Aura, it's not Gaga's problem? IMO it just goes against the entire working-ethic that she has stood for all this time. I'm sure she had her reasons, and I'm not saying that I suddenly dislike MJH (or Aura for that matter), but it sure as hell is confusing and a little dissapointing. see i feel like to call it a "collaboration" between her and the producer they should be creating something off of scratch. that way they are both experiencing the same thing, with no agenda, no pre conceived vision. i understand what you guys are saying but i feel like that's not the way music works. Take MJ and Quincy Jones for example who listened to 200 demos for Off the Wall and MANY more for Thriller (they wrote supposedly 900 songs for Thriller based off the demos they went through). Whether it's sitting at a piano, or listening to a pre-made instrumental, your music is going to be derived from somewhere and some melody that you heard already. Hell even freaking Peter Tchaikovsky, the ****ing Romantic master, admitted that he took the grand theme from his Piano Concerto No. 1 from a tune he heard from the streets on a city in Ukraine. yeah Gaga wrote a song based off of an instrumental but that's almost just as good as writing a song on a piano based off of a repetitive and overused chord progression (Paparazzi, The Edge of Glory, Hair, Dance in the Dark, Boys Boys Boys, The Queen, Dope). And I think it's better to bring up past music and use it to make it work in a better song rather than letting it rot away into oblivion. Thank god such a masterpiece as this demo instrumental received a treatment and proper release from an artist who wrote a great melody and lyrics to go along with it. like I agree with you to an extent but I think people are making a big deal out of this especially by making personal attacks to Gaga about her work ethic, when in reality this is commonplace in music. DrewStevens 5,249
I don't really see what's wrong with this She doesn't produce her songs anyway. She is a songwriter, not a producer. Government Hooker and Marry The Night were produced before too. Edited June 26, 2014 by DrewStevens

idldte 2
I don't really see what's wrong with this The song itself is so extremely similar. It's more like Gaga changed the lyrics and a few melodies.
