Should Gaga go for a less heavy concept on her next album?

It depends if it's executed well. imo ARTPOP seemed too difficult for the media to grasp and it just kinda fell under the radar with the GP. BTW was easy to understand by everyone, but it was deep at the same time and the songs were a lot more relatable for me than something like Donatella or Fashion! I think concepts are good if they are executed well, and the listener can relate to it.

The thing is that her music is always good. I love ARTPOP but i hate the way she promoted it.

Shoving art down our throat 24/7 was one of the main reasons for it's underperfomance.

She better drop all this serious attitude unless she wants to be irrelevant.

Or maybe she can be relevant to people who care about artists that believe in their work and leave the mindless pop concepts to others.

That is litterally what the fame is. A commentary on pop culture.

But you're not answering my questions. Where is the art in the music? Commenting on pop culture isn't really art per se. Do explain

The things is, Gaga didn't directly reference the art in her music like saying in applause "I'm dressed up as Venus" or something. She puts the art into music. The art comes mostly alive when it is performed. Performance art. Like with Swine. But I'm sure there is obvious art references in some tracks like Venus which is completely based on a painting. And Fashion! Is about the art of fashion and it's ability to make one positive, confident and brave. People think Fashion! Is so pointless and a filler but fashion is an art as well.

But mostly I feel Gaga brings the art to life through the performances.

Her concepts are always good hun, the problem is the way she promote it's content.

She sounds like a pretentious biatch and that turns ppl off. Once she drops this attitude she 'll be successful again, cause the music itself is good.

If there's anyway gaga can prove how artistic she is, it's in her music videos and stage setups imo. Born This Way was everything fictional and her description of the music and theme was exactly what i felt.

ARTPOP was pretty much a let down compared to her other songs and the theme was not well executed. But i do think Gaga was more original this era. like i don't think she took inspiration from any other artists and legends.

you pretty much agreed with me there; there isn't really that much art in the music itself, which is why the concept fell through

Who's tearing down the album? I'm not. I just find that it isn't as good as the others. Not saying it's bad. Not in anyway.

And I don't stan for ARTPOP because it's new. I stan for it because it's good. And I find it quite offensive you would assume that.

And I can come up with a ton of reasons why I think people stan for The Fame and The Fame Monster but I don't say it because that would just be a rude assumption.

You just assumed that I stan for ARTPOP because it's new.

And The Fame's concept isn't simple but in comparisson to ARTPOP and her other albums I find it is the simplest. And who said simple was bad?

The concept wasn't "have art in music". It was put art into pop music. There's actually a difference but I don't think you get it but that's fine. Like I said in when you interpret art there is no wrong or right answer but there is no point in brushing off ARTPOP concept if you don't get it.

Glad we got this worked out.

Ok I sense attitude. :excuseme:

What I mean is (maybe I phrased it wrong) is she puts art into her music. But that doesn't mean her music itself isn't artistic. The message is artistic. People seem to forget that part. The artistic mesage being sent. She has an artistic message with each song and she further puts art into her music through the performance of it.

And simply Gaga creating her own music is art itself.

I just get the vibe you actually don't like ARTPOP at all and don't want to accept the message. I'm pretty tired of that. It comes a lot here. But understandably it's mostly fans who have been stanning since Just Dance and don't like that Gaga has a new artistic vision and refuse to accept it.

I know music is art, but what's so reverse warholian in the musical sense with donatella or s-x dreams?

I do like ARTPOP for its music, and it would stand on its own well, but her explanation for the concept doesn't really make any sense in terms of the actual music.

I'm not refusing to accept her artistic vision. I'm just questioning in. In her previous albums, the message and concept was clear and to the point. If someone asked her about one of her albums, she could describe it in one or two sentences. But this time around she's making stuff up at different times and it doesn't really seem like she knows where she wants to go with it.

"it could mean anything" is pretty vague, and when she's claiming it's art without really saying why, it doesn't do it for me, personally. One second it could mean anything, and then it's about mixing art with pop (which she kinda did with cothes and pictures and stuff), but the music is straight-on pop music, which she even said herself.

During the other albums, I really enjoyed all aspects of the concept, the videos and everything, because it was all very clear and relatable. This time around I really only listen to the music, and it doesn't really make me think, like her older stuff used to.
