Tbh the beginning drags, I almost stopped watching it.

 

I'm happy you enjoyed it.

 

The entire movie I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

 

I could relate to Lolita, Lolita's mom, and Humbert.

I'm glad you made this thread, i was finally able to see it and not push it off for another time.

 

I was the same way watching it! There were parts where something would happen or they'd say something and i'd be thinking, "was i supposed to laugh at that?"

 

I think maybe cause we are younger, we can relate to Lolita. Older people or those more experience in relationships probably identify with the adult characters more.

Most of my "should I laugh or should I cry" moments were because of Lolita's mom. I felt so bad for her, but she was so entertaining and sweet at the same time. Humbert's awkwardness while around her... especially the "mom yelling at Lolita" scene. I love Humbert. I probably relate to him the most personality wise.

Gonna be honest, I found it so funny when she got hit by the car and i have no idea why. I was cackling so much, and then Humbert being so chill about it made it even funnier.
