GagaUnderYou 4,994
The day that it leaked the site was crazy and there was a poll asking which album was Gaga's best and everyone said it was ARTPOP. I remember threads saying ARTPOP is better than TFM and everything. This album is really good, and sold decent, it's just that critics dragged it and it rubbed off to the fans as a "flop", what can Gaga do to prove it isn't a flop? DWUW as a second single sold 2m and Judas didn't even though it's flawless. When Gaga's next album drops everyone will probably say they miss the ARTPOP era just like they are doing now saying they miss the BTW era Let's appreciate ARTPOP :ARTPOP:
Rolodex of Hate 1,761
Remember everyone saying that ARTPOP was going to be Gaga's Ray of Light? mess We have no legal choice but to stan

Tropico 4,145
GODPOP slays! :artpop: The media just labeled it a flop too much and too quickly and fans were use to Gaga getting praise for each album and when that happened they turned on Gaga. Very fast. Mob mentality. If someone says something enough people will believe it. And instagram monsters + tumblr + twitter monsters all love it. Mostly here is where the s--t comes in and that's because of chartmonsters. And ARTPOP is doing rather well! GODPOP is legendary and you will deal. :staymad: ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
IAmTheX 0
I don't care if it sells 8 million or 500.000; for me, after those dark-pop albums called The Fame Monster and BTW, ARTPOP is just a step back to electropop. I seriously think Gaga's composition skills have evolved a lot and the melodies are the best ones she's ever written but the production sounds so commercial (sometimes, generic) that I can't see Gaga as a free artist doing whatever she wanted with her music as I had always seen her, but as someone made to release more commercial songs by her record. When BTW's sales were a bit lower than TFM's ones, I was there fightinhg for it to be a success cause it's a masterpiece, but I just don't care if ARTPOP's a flop or whatever. And no, I'm not a bad fan, I'm just a person who isn't afraid of saying that something made by his idol isn't that good (at least for me), so don't kill me. djBuffoon 12,125
It's all a matter of taste. I think it's her best, but it's also very different from The Fame Monster and Born This Way, two albums that fans are particurlarly fond of, for different reasons. I respect that instead of trying to top BTW, she went underneath it and created something warmer, more seductive and psychedelic, as opposed to more retro and bombastic. I do believe that, in time, it will get the due it deserves. The music is too good to be dragged forever. Also interesting to note that maaany users here (fans, I'm assuming) can sh*t on the album all day, but if someone tries to criticize the earlier works, they immediately get shot down and called delusional. As if everything she's done to this point has been infallible. I've seen it happen too many times, and it's gross.
Bio 23,538
The music in ARTPOP is pop music at its best. It's just that people are kind of over the whole dance/electropop thing and got tired of the album really fast. And there's also the "art" thing which cannot be found anywhere near the album. RAMROD 109,970
IDK, but I just finished the last track of ARTPOP as am typing this. It sounds better than first time I heard it. Prolly all those snippets and promotional singles before album release unknowingly kind of tire fans out even though we were excited after hearing it that time. And some fans being pressed the sings are not how they heard first time on iTunes Fest as well. LaXian 25
Honestly I love ARTPOP and as stupid as this sounds, I have never had a problem admitting if one of my favorite artists failed to deliver or "flopped" and ARTPOP did not fail to deliver for me, I honestly think that it's a trend nowadays to call Gaga a flop because it gets website "hits", if ARTPOP was handled better without all drama going on I think it could have gone a lot better, it's still my favorite album from Gaga because to me personally it has the least fillers. When I heard the song AURA and ARTPOP at the iTunes festival I as like f*ck yes this is it! She's back! Although ARTPOP (song) would never really become a big hit, it was so mesmerizing and unique! ARTPOP still slays me and it's been like 7 months since it's release, which is a first for an album for me ...
MANiCURE 60
I can't drag ARTPOP. It has no more "not-so-keen-on" tracks than any of the other albums. It did take me a few listens to appreciate more of the album than I did at first, and that seems common for some fans I know. ARTPOP :P
Elizabeth 450
Honestly people on this site loved ARTPOP until the bad reviews started emerging and people let their opinions be shaped by the media.
VforVendetta 2,024
Actually I've realised they don't. Its just that people that don't like it express it much more that the ones that love it.
Chinosky 1,984
I think it always happens people used to love something until someone makes a bad comment about it. It happened with me with Maleficent, I loved it when I first watched it and then I read reviews then boom. Nonetheless, it's a great album Father, Son, and House of Cucci
