RyanBall 1
I think it'll definitely be Starlight, but I'm hoping for a decent rising band as well. Either way I have seats, but will I be allowed in if I turn up later than 7.30?! Hopefully Starlight and someone more known in the UK. I know there were rumours of Conchita but I would hate that even more than the current choices :millie: And to answer the latter question, officially no, not after everyone has made their way in. I know for the O2 arena in London they can let you in when they deem there's a 'suitable break' in the performance but they can refuse admission so it's up to the specific venue really. blacklistedd 599
I know Starlight is Gagas friend and I think she looks cool but as for her work I think shes straight up crap. Theres 2 things Gaga does with every tour that has grown incredibly stale and thats (1) name the tour the name of the album with the word ball at the end and (2) let starlight open for the opening act. Enough. I have no interest in these other artists either. But im going for Gaga so I guess it doesnt matter. Just wish she'd have cooler acts, I mean The Monster Ball had the Scissor Sisters! Whats with the major downgrade?

Steve Kershaw 0
I wholeheartedly agree. Starlight is pretty awful. I don't know much about Hatsune Miku tho.

But honey get off the stage and let a musician get the crowd pumped
DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I liked Hatsune. And wasn't her set like 30 min.?... That's not very long. And tbh I actually enjoyed Starlight's set. Yes it was repetitive, but I was constantly pulled into it. Of course it's not for everyone though.

Random Miku Fan 4
I thought Miku was kinda cool, and I didn't even mind that it was in Japanese. The problem was that 90% of Miku's songs all sound the same. If her music was actually interesting and catchy, then I might have enjoyed her act. They remixed her songs for artRAVE giving then more of a rock edge, which made them a bit self-similar. Maybe a medley would have been better to show off her versatility. Miku does everything from Swing Jazz to Death Metal, as I'm fond of saying :)Anyway, I expect there is a lot of selection bias with Ticketmaster reviews, for a bunch of reasons I won't go into. Twitter is more candid, and I've been monitoring twitter reactions to all the concerts looking for keywords like anime, cartoon, hologram, and opening. I saw a lot of tweets from confused people, but except for Pittsburgh there were generally more positive reactionsto Miku than negative. The below is all from different people at the Calgary show, and I'm leaving out the obvious Miku fans. Her opening act is an anime girl hologram... HAHAHAHA luv her #artRAVECalgary-------everyone go look up Hatsune Miku on youtube so u can find out my new love-------Hatsune Miku's pretty damn good! #artRAVE #artRAVECalgary-------Okay not going to lie, I’m not sure I really get Hatsune Miku but as an opening act for Gaga? I’m pretty impressed-------Loving the anime girl opening for Gaga! #artRAVECalgary-------#artRAVECalgary Hatsune Miku is awesome!-------HATSUNE IS SO SWAGGY ITS GETTIN ME IN THE GAGA MOODI only found two negative reactions for Calgary using the same search terms.Meanwhile, the Starlight hate has been almost universal. I'm sure it lowers people's perception of Miku, because while people may not have minded her 25-minute set initially, by the time Starlight's hour is up all they remember is those "terrible opening acts". Flip the order of the openers and I think Miku might be remembered more fondly.
Shadow 6,489
I think Starlight played the 45 minute long bass techno just to piss people off. I miss her drunk rock DJ days, she played some kick ass tunes! I thought Hatsune was cool, though. Pity Party 743
Where is Semi Precious Weapons Gaga? Lady Starlight....no, goodbye.
Retep 0
The only openers for Gaga that I've liked were Scissor Sisters, I'm sure Zedd and Madeon would've been amazing too (my date was canceled). I personally love Hatsune but you could tell everyone else around had no idea what was happening, Starlight on the other hand started off right but dragged on. I remember people literally saying, "Can't she see that no one in this entire arena is dancing?" .
Bye 3,947
2 hours opening act???? I'm on GA and I want a nice spot, I also have trouble standing for too long due to flat feet  I was dying by the end of the BTWB, this is going to kill me, literally. I hope they cut down on the opening acts for the UK tour. Never buying a GA ticket again even if it's the most fun. 2 hours tho I still can't believe it
