artRAVE Queueing System Idea

I've mentioned something about this on the Manchester thread, but I wanted to see if it would be plausible for other shows too.

I know that at the moment, when you're in the queue most of the time fans organise their position in the queue by writing the number on their hand in sharpie. It's a good method, but I've heard stories of some people pushing in by writing a low number on their hand, and sometimes the sharpie can rub off.

An alternative to this would be paper wristbands that show your number on it, they're foolproof in the sense that you can't take yours off and give it to someone else, they don't rub off and people can't just write a number on and cut in. It would also be a piece of memorabilia from the concert.

This is a quick design I made before. These wristbands are extremely cheap and are waterproof. I'd probably only make 50 for LMZ and 100 for GA because it would take ages to make them for everyone.

Do you think this would be a good idea? If people teamed up with me, we could create them for as many shows as we can, I would cover all costs (Cause I get dat promo :derpga:). I can probably also promo GGD on the wristband too.

Some people might find the idea a little pretentious, especially if you're first in line. It's a good idea but I don't know if everyone would participate or think it's necessary.

Could the same be said for the sharpie method? That's been used at a lot of the shows so far.

When we were queueing at my show, everyone maintained their number until word got out that neither the venue nor Gaga's team cared about the number system.  So everyone went HAM and took whatever spot they wanted.  The wristbands worked great for the BTWB but that's because people with wristbands were let in before everyone else.  That's not the case with this tour.  I wouldn't waste time doing something unofficial because people really don't need to obey the system if they don't have to.

Well the Sharpie method is more simple. Having custom wristbands printed just might make you look like you're taking it too seriously.

You also deal with the issue of people joining the line, leaving for 6 hours, then coming back expecting to get their spot back. What are you going to do, cut it off their hand? You'd have to get the support of everyone who was around them in order to kick them out of line and the venue staff won't help you since they don't honor unofficial numbering.

It's a shame that they aren't doing numbered wristbands like the BTWB because that added some organization.

We did the number system on our hand and had a book where we wrote down our names at MSG. It worked fairly well. Had some issues close to time of entry though with some girls trying to cut the line by writing fake numbers on their hands - but we had the book with names to back up the numbers.

It was so stupid :fail:

This is so funny because I was gonna do this for my artRAVE if there was a keyholder type system. Since there's not it's not really worth it IMO.

The line at my show was so chill, we just walked in and out when we pleased (within reason of course)

When I was talking to gaga's head security when doing fan project stuff (this was the day that the number system failed), they said they will never endorse or honor the number system because then they will be held liable for anything that happens.

Don't really need it for this tour though. Security cares, but they can't be legally responsible for a fan-driven system

But they did wristbands in NA for the BTWB right? Wish they could do something like that again. I mean it's kinda dangerous if when it's time to go in everyone just fights right? ;)

Looking back I wish I said that but they specifically told me camping out really isn't necessary for this one

At all the shows I've been to, security guards always tend to respect the number system, especially early on in the lining up process...my most recent one in St. Paul, the security guard kept directing new people to the kid who was writing numbers. Gaga's guys don't care as much though, but they do try to make sure everybody keeps their spots and prevent cutting etc.
