MonsterMum 2,532
I had a pretty incredible day on May 18th, and I would like to tell you all about it. This is not so much a concert review, but just an overall snapshot of my experience on that day. Since I had a Little Monster Zone VIP package for early entry to the general admission floor, I decided to go down to Quicken Loans Arena early (by myself), and just make a day of it. I arrived in the line around 10:30 AM, with the promise of a 5:00 entry. Let me preface the rest by saying I was a bit apprehensive about spending the day in line, only because I fall a bit outside of what some may consider the “typical†Gaga demographic, being a 40 year old married with kids Metalhead. I can honestly say my fears were IMMEDIATELY put to rest. I ended up sitting next to an really nice high school kid from the area, who was super excited at the prospect of seeing his musical idol front and center, and it reminded me so much of myself at that age…hell, at this age, too! We talked about how we both don’t really know anyone in our real lives that are big Gaga fans, and how nice it was to be among a large group of like minded people. At that point, I started looking around at all of the incredibly creative costumes, and I thought about the courage it takes to wear something outrageous, knowing people will stare at you (some with disapproval), and still OWN IT. Then something really nice happened. As I was standing there looking at costumes, a kid with possibly an Australian accent came up to me and asked if I was there alone. I told him I was, and his response was “Well, you aren’t anymore, are you?†That one sentence cemented the fact that I belonged, and that there was no reason for me to NOT belong. Gaga put on her usual amazing and inspiring show, but the slight difference this time around was she was more of a party host, rather than a front woman of a band at an arena Rock show. This show was more delegated to the band, the dancers, and the fans, while she was the glue that held everything together. People danced together, laughed together, and cried together. It was pretty awe inspiring to see so many emotions on display in one place, and that is something I will never forget. After ‘Aura’ I tossed up a quick note on stage with a gift attached to it. It was a guitar pick that I caught from Paul Stanley of KISS (who Gaga is a big fan of) back in 2000. I just wanted her to have something as a token of appreciation for the happiness her music and art has brought me. Realistically, she probably never saw it, but I gave it a shot. Looking back, this whole day happened because of one pretty incredible woman. To successfully bring people of all races, ages, orientations, etc., together in one place, it must be for a very special reason. After spending the day with my new friends, I think I finally understand the message Gaga is trying to convey with ARTPOP. We really could belong together. tampon 1
Sorry to say this sounds very fake especially by bringing up MDNA and the fact that people going to a concert care enough to bully someone because of a lightning strike behind your ear. Not to mention getting vomited on by an anorexic kid. Really? Call me insensitive and judgmental but I sense a troll. Also that is the members only post
