I think Brooklyn Nights could've been a smash hit tbh

I like it but it flopped Hardcore after being hyped forever. Same idea.. Relatable lyrics mid tempo... Yeah flop

The song flopped because they didn't promote Work Bitch at all and after that under performed, they released a second single that wasn't mentioned in interviews or performed anywhere. If she did promo (like Amas were around that time) then it would've been a hit.

You really think a song about a breakup is more relatable than songs about having the world cheer and scream your name and having the media constantly wrote horrible things about you? The delusion :derpga:

Yes but the song about having world cheer and scream for you is a much better one. Relatable doesn't always mean a hit.

I agree. I think Applause is actually more relatable than one might think. I know I find it one of her most relatable/likable songs. I actually can't relate to a break up song at all.

Gaga's biggest hits are not relatable songs anyway. PokerFace, Bad Romance, Applause, Alejandro, Paparazzi etc. They are relatable in a way as you said but not in the obvious way.

Yeah  I like that she's relatable in an abstract way.

Alejandro is very relatable though :derpga:

(what is it about again? Something about saying goodbye to her old lovers....)

No she just always liked Latin names and she wanted to write a song that has a lot of them. :derpga:

I've said this from the beginning. Anyone who thinks otherwise clearly hasn't turned on a radio recently.

The delusion. BN is a horrible Wrecking Ball knock off.

No

I feel like it doesn't even matter how the song sounds anymore, the radio is just unwilling to support Gaga after the lead single, so another hit is virtually unreachable.

If Gypsy, MANiCURE, G.U.Y., or even Brooklyn Nights were by Katy Perry, they all would be giant hits.

It's from 2011 . . .

I wish she was copying Miley, the Gaga version of Can't Be Tamed would slay

I'd have to disagree. It doesn't sound like gaga (in a bad way), it's boring and basic and the lyrics are terrible. BN sounds like a song any female pop star could make. I understand that boring and basic sells, but it isn't Gaga.

A-yo, A-yo..... We smokin' em all
